The next Big BLIZZ fiasco

Ah, Jason Schreier found a new gig.

Schreier again and his slew of sources lol.

Yeah anyway I’m not defending Blizz but can’t say I’m surprised. Many big companies have these issues. But it usually stays on the inside.

Yeah I’m not sure how to feel about it but I think it’ll blow up anyway.

After past controversy and firing so many last year was it? Record profits. Its not a good look. Being expected to make less money cause you work for one of the biggest names…

Morale must be at an all time low. Not surprised! :100:

Corporations not paying employees what we/they think they’re worth isn’t new unfortunately.

Worse, the game development industry has an awful lot of interested people desperate for experience even if it means being paid peanuts. Not a lot of reason to pay people much, as sad as it is to say that.

Schreier is a turd. He went off on the girl who exposed one of those big tech shows for leaking attendees personal information, all because she wasn’t a “journalist” like him and so she shouldn’t have done it.

they take advantage of people wanting to work for the company they grew up loving and pay them less. happens all over the place. most employees know it and still apply.

sucks that thats the name of the game.

Yikes lol, I don’t follow that gaming journalism much but I’ve read up on the guy and am not fond of his ‘sources’ and overall pseudo-journalism.

I’m not fond of him, obviously. Bloomberg’s audience isn’t really into stories like Jason’s either, so we’ll see how well he does there with his one-trick pony.

Either way, seems it’s stoked the fires on GD as per usual and the internet hate.

Haha yep, that’s one thing he definitely is good at.

Funny because that article did not mention what was the hourly wage. All it gave were testimonies of disgruntled employees. This is to be expected form Bloomberg. It gives me feelings and no crude facts.

Want to talk about the real problem? Lets talk about California’s tax rates. If the taxes were not so high people would have more money in their pocket.

But you guys! We said BLM! We included LGBT characters in our games! What?! You mean we actually have to be decent individuals and not just woke cultural marxists?!

I hope this is a joke. There have been numerous instances of deplorable work conditions as well as lacking financial compensation issues regarding working for Blizz. This does not include the inhumane mass pre-Christmas layoffs they did recently.

Even Bloomberg is usually better than this.

Thing with Jason Schreier is you have to take everything he does with a huge grain of salt because of his agenda. He is the furthest thing from objective.

I wouldn’t doubt it but the “sources” on this article seem dubious. Kind of surprised Bloomberg would allow something like this to be published in the first place.

why is anyone surprised? 800 employees got fired so bobby can get his bonus :stuck_out_tongue:

That may be so but their treatment of their employees based on other practices has been deplorable for a first world “progressive” corporation.

I think the hypocrisy is what triggers me. I’m old enough to know the pragmatism of the world so the conditions, while awful, are expected.

This is the US. Everyone that works for a living is underpaid.

This isn’t new. But people do not seem to want to do anything about it if it inconveniences them. Sure, you can post all you want and be keyboard critics, but I am willing to be very few posters here will actively get involved.

Seriously, did people really think a major corp like Bliz was immune to this?
