To be honest I’d rather have had High Elves instead of Void Elves and just been done with it. Could’ve given High Elves Void Elf Customization when Alleria took front and center stage in the story again, saying she trained some of the elite of the High Elves in the Alliance in how to wield the Void. Just would have to cut that customization from the Paladin class is all. Not like Blood Elf Demon Hunters can use the Gold Eyes, so it’s not as if it isn’t possible.

Aside from that High Elves do have some interesting potential as far as class selection goes. They have a history of close friendship with the Wildhammer Dwarves, so they’re the only iteration of elf we have that could potentially be shamans. If the developments across WoW are any indication, they’ve made strides towards building up positive relations with Night Elves as well. High Elves could provide a much needed Druid option to the Alliance.

Why the hate on dragons?

I can definitely see the Vulpera coming online.

For other’s that are possible, that I’d like: Vrykul (which would be hilarious if Horde get them), Mok’nathal, San’layn, Jinyru, Arakkoa, I can see Sethrak eventually

Probably because of how innately powerful dragons are.

Non-Humanoid body shape, would probably cause numerous issues.

Because Dragons are a horrible fit for a playable race lorewise, and probably even worse gameplay-wise

I mean… We’re not dragons and we’ve been killing Old Gods, Elemental Lords, and defeated the entire Burning Legion. Considering the Dragonflights were de-powered at the end of Cataclysm, somehow I don’t really see Dragons being all that OP anymore. On paper you would imagine them to be, but in practice?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think playable dragons would be anywhere near as, “Cool,” as they sound. You’re not going to be running/flying around as a massive dragon, you’ll be stuck in a Humanoid form most of the time. In fact I won’t be surprised if that was part of a playable dragon race’s lore. They found a solution to their inability to reproduce but it requires their humanoid form becoming their true form, and their dragon form being useless for anything more than flying around.

They gave up a lot of their power to kill deathwing. Still I guess they would be pretty op however.

They would be in humanoid form most of the time. Dragon form would mainly just be for travel.

How so?

Tuskar for sure. Everybody wants to play a Gilbert & Sullivan character. Their racial can be to break out in song at a moment’s notice.

Lorewise: Dragon RP would be even more prominent. We don’t need more. And either way, they usually do their own thing.

Gameplay-wise: Essentially the way it’d look, can’t say much else.

I definitely agree I would have preferred high elf over void elf if we could rewind time. I like that alliance finally got the sexy belf model but I don’t really dig the emo purple theme, and I am sad they can’t be several of the classes I would have liked to play on them.

Eh, then there’s not a lot point from my perspective, travel dragon form would be better reserved for a mount that others get (or a Druid Glyph)

But they do have tentacles… Horde needs a sexy tentacle race, Alliance has both Draenai and Velves.

Hozen, with Sky Hozen as the druid flight form.
Because grookin’ Alliance in warmode.

Dont get me wrong. There are other races I would much rather see. Legged naga being my main, but I woudnt consider it a bad thing if we got them. They would have to make a pretty cool humanoid form for them though to make them worth it.

Another point for dragons is I feel one of the reasons Blizzard is doing ARs is to give each faction some similar version of each other’s models. For example, It’s no secret that the factions became extremely unbalanced when Horde got Blood Elves, because a lot of people wanted that sexy looking model. Well now Alliance finally gets to have a race with that model, too. Though as I said in previous post, I feel a bit slighted … not a fan of the emo purple theme, and I can’t be most of my favorite classes on velf :frowning:

But anyways, with dragons, it could give Horde the human model… and potentially Alliance a less purple emo blood elf model.
