Basically nobody uses wands, yet you added in a wand.
Only Priests, Warlocks, and Mages can even equip a wand. Mages won’t go for it because adding in a measely 1.3k dps isn’t really worth the crafting cost. Maybe Affliction Warlocks might use it. Holy Priests can definitely use it. Disc is kind of a 50/50 on which buff will proc and when…
Essentially, only two specs in the game can genuinely find a use for it…
So why did you add it?
Druids are famous for using wands. Who better, besides mages, to use wands. Fortune telling wands, magic casting wands, direction, water, etc…druids have been known to use wands irl (I know, I know…)
Expanding Druids to be able to use wands, not only adds in at least one new spec (maybe boomkin could get some value as well???) that could use that really cool item you spent all that time adding into the game…And who better to use a Spore Keeper item than a Restoration Druid?
TL;DR
I can’t think of any good reason to not let Druids use wands finally. Not only is it Druid lore friendly, but it is crafter friendly, and developer friendly.
Its not just a win-win, its a win-win-win!
Druids can use the new wand, Crafters can add in a huge pool of new buyers/upgraders, and the developers can see their fancy cool new wand get used by more than like 1% of the population…
Okay. So what does that have to do with druids also being able to use wands?
Its not like a ton of current bosses have wands you could use for anything other than transmog.
So now we have a new wand, why not add in a new class to be able to use wands?
And there are literally dozens of caster swords.
There are like four bosses in dungeons that give caster swords, and a few in the raid.
There are (99% sure here) zero bosses that drop a wand in Dragonflight.
Not really hearing an argument against druids being able to use wands.
Over 35 specializations.
One for sure user, and three potential.
Just bad head math says that like, 1/11th of the population
actually its less so yeah…basically nobody, but I am not trying to go that far, because again I see no argument against what I said.
Do you think druids should be able to use wands, yes or no?
And why? Either way!
I never thought about it before.
I think lore-wise, it’s actually kind of weird that you can’t use it. Monks are known for their martial prowess, agile acrobatics and feats of strength…which is the in-game reason why only DH can use warglaives.
Yet lore wise, the monks, at least the wind walkers…they could totally wield them.
Vexamus
Azureblade
Also some crafted ones. As a side note, the one sword I was thinking of, Caustic Coldsteel Slicer, is STR based, but virtually nobody needs/wants it so its a good transmog.
So two drops and a few crafted, that I am aware of.
And I don’t think there is any druid specific weapon that only they can use, so not sure what you are talking about.
I cleary stated that no raid bosses this expansion drop any caster swords. I mean, I made this clear several times and here you are not even able to read. These are from m+ which I really dont participate in. In previous expansions you could get caster swords from raids or a pvp vendor. Now its just for M+. Again, consider reading beforw posting.
they’re kind of a holdover from classic when they were kind of a stat stick or there to help fill in the downtime/oom time that casters such as mages, priests would be experiencing. Druids used to have a relic slot in the spot that wants would have been.
thematically WoW doesn’t have very many nature wands unless you get a random drop that happens to do it. It’s always of the arcane schools of magic, frost, fire, magic that druids don’t use. It sounds more like you should be on an RP server playing your druid in this way that you really would enjoy.
I mean, all weps are stat sticks for caster but classic we could have a sword, dagger, or staff equipped and also have a wand to, like you said, fill the downtime when we were oom. Wasnt much dps but it was something.
Guns, Bows, Crossbows (and the removed Thrown Weapon) were just stat sticks for Warriors and Rogues (and to occasionally pull from range or deal damage to an boss they cant melee during a phase) but Hunters actually used Guns/Bows/Crossbows for their attacks.
And shields are used by Paladins (Prot/Holy), Prot Warriors, and Shamans (Ele/Enh).
Also our next new class should be a class that uses Guns/Bows/Crossbows because we need more goofy and excellent looking gun transmog.
