The New Text-To-Speech Feature

So I am actually THRILLED with the new text to speech feature.

I find it extremely useful for announcing text in chat that I’d normally miss, especially if chat is scrolling super quick.

There are only a couple things I’d like to see made different.

  1. If you have text to speech on for NPC text, and the NPC has a scripted voice line, have an option to only use text-to-speech for NPCs that don’t have scripted voice lines.

  2. Add some more options PLEASE! It is kind of odd to me how there are only two very basic options for text to speech. I am not sure how difficult this was to implement, but text to speech technology is extremely advanced, and I know that you’d be able to add some more voices.

  3. Would be cool to see some paid options possibly, I’d love to hear Thrall’s voice for text-to-speech or even Jaina.

What is everyone’s thoughts on this? Have you check out the new text-to-speech feature on the PTR? Do you like it and think you will use it?
