The new talent tree changes looking great

I think the new changes to the hunter talent trees are looking great. Making a choice node for barrage/explosive shot will help alot with the button bloat especially for MM aoe. Same with blodshed/murder of crows in the BM. Beast cleave having increased duration will really help make aoe feel beter for BM and moving dire beast to murder of crows old spot will even give the tree abit of a thematic divide where the left side focuses on the pet canon playstyle and the right side is more bow and single pet focused.

The improvments to razor fragments will help aoe for MM feel beter together with the reduced button bloat they will have now.

Now please allow me to cast aimed shot on the move or give me the talent option to replace it with something i can cast on the move so i can taste the freedom of mobility MM used to have. Also i would love for a choice of a diffrent builder from steady shot, like MMs own version of barbed shot or a reworked sidewinders. It would allow for a simple talent change that wou have low impact on output numbers but would change the feel of the specc alot, i loved the feast/famine focus waves you got with sidewinder. Do this Nimox and i will name my next dog after you.
Please and thank you

for the most part better, but I rather they buff Chakram than remove it. It’s a cool looking skill.

I like it aswell and would’ve prefered it staying over stampede but i thinks its beter to prevent button bloat and they havent been able to find a good place for that ability.

I am just happy to hear they don’t feel like Rapid Fire is a required talent. I really don’t like it, so I intend on skipping it as much as possible.

I like that they moved Lone Wolf to first tier, though I still think it should be baseline.

i like beast cleave improvement, But Dire Beast/Stampede is worthless at damage levels…and damage nerf that AC forces on all pets

should be a choice node like mages Water elem/lonely winter

They’ve already said they want to get rid of this interaction. Likely only leaving it for the main pet.

THIS.

I think they know some ppl want the sniper feel of the spec and RF ruins that identity for me. I’m glad I don’t have to rock it. Been playing with the tree and came up with some builds I can definitely see myself running without RF, can’t wait.

Agree as well! I never liked the rapid fire ability. Did not feel like a Hunter thing. Same as barrage.

Now just have them remove/let us build SV without kill command and I think the 3 specs identity is in a much better spot. Feels so bad to have a beast master signature ability be our… Signature ability that has our focus regen and stand for like 60-70% of SV synergy… Ugh!

Ye, i think these things are really good even if they just end up being more for flavour. I never minded RF itself but i always thought the animation looked silly.

I honestly can’t remember the last time hunters actually got a good ability/animation. For example barrage looks ridiculous, rapid fire as well for the same reason. New animation to kill command is even worse than the old. The covenant abilities are horrible, two of them is just straight up blue rings on the floor and one is a red arrow the other is some green ghost flying between targets. Fury of the eagle is just a worse version of Fist of fury from monks. It’s just so bad and it feels like the visuals of the game is often one of the top 3 in the game, together with sound/music. But hunters have been shafted for so long it feels very bland to play any spec.

I think the last great animation got was in legion, one of the MM artifact traits would make it so your hunters shot would fire ghost arrows on all targets hit. It looked really cool when it procced it would fire arrows from you that would then rain down on the enemys, it wasnt anything crazy but i loved it whenever it procc’d

I agree with this. Is it in the new talent tree? I can’t remember the name of it.

Nah they are giving us Legacy of the Windrunners which gives ghost arrows on aimed shot, its probably a beter fit gameplay wise. The ability i loved the animation of was called Call of the hunter: When you mark shot Thas’dorah has a chance to call forth a barrage of wind arrows to strike all vulnerable poeple.

Okay, I remember now. I really think all of the animations for MM were superior in Legion. I hated the Vulnerable mechanic, but if you don’t take that into consideration, it felt better to play than what we currently have.

I loved sidewinders, i get not everyone loved it and it was messy hitting everything in the same zone as you, but chaning your focus regen from a spammable builder into a charged base system with a cooldown allowed for a diffrent pace for the specc that i loved. Choosing between default arcane shot or sidewinder as focus builder gave 2 diffrent playstyles with a single talent.

Why exactly? Isn’t using a gun a part of the hunter class?

Since when did a musket/blunderbuss type of weapon shoot a barrage of bullets over a prolonged duration? I mean what barrage and rapid fire is is just modern weapons handled by a amateur on automatic, perhaps semi-auto for rapid I guess.

I mean we can’t be too nitty picky with what is logical and realistic but in my opinion there is a line, and those two cross it. Barrage I don’t get how anyone can enjoy considering it’s been largely ignored even when well tuned because it just pulls everything thru anything… no serious player uses it outside of pulling large areas of mob for AoE farming in open world. And rapid fire you can like sure, but I personally don’t.

It’s not about liking it. It’s more about opening the door for a mad gunner play style that I feel is missing for hunters, or even range in general.
