The new Recuperate ability

Because not all raids may have a Mage and this type of ability has been something seen in MMORPGs for some time.

It’s also great for outdoor and Delve folks. Minus the fact that it’s missing mana regen.

The whole thing feels like a solution to a non-existent problem.

I don’t think it was supposed to be a solution to anything. I think it was just a “here’s something other MMOs have and we wanted to add for fun for open world, but we half-baked it.”

From what some have said to me, this is designed for raid wipes.

I have not noticed it, but I’m told mana users have their mana reset to full when they rez, so the Recuperate button is to gain back the health.

I have not tested any of this though, so take that how you will.

So if that’s to be believed… they only designed it with raids in mind? :woman_facepalming:

The most people, I think, that will use it are those in open world and I would’ve used it in Delves, too. Also would’ve loved to use it when I swap specs.

I’m only reporting what I’ve heard from others.

But would you be surprised? Not every raid has a mage and lots of players are lazy about bringing food and/or eating it after pulls.

No, but it still should work for mana. The button works everywhere.

I’ve heard that from lots of people.

There should probably be a petition made.

i don’t like this ability existing
i was fine eating food and drinking water

You can still eat and drink food. They didn’t remove that ability.

Me personally? I like it. I’d like it more if it wasn’t half an ability.

It’s a good question… honestly. I think they added it because they know a lot of people aren’t running around with food and never do cooking. But yea I mean… recuperating for a caster involves mana it should give both if they are gonna give it to us.

Do people run out of mana a lot?

The only time I have was on a lower level character, and it was a bug that made Judgement cost 120 mana instead of 12

I assume it is more of a problem for healers in dungeons and raids.

I can in Delves. And the Recuperate would be super useful when swapping specs.

Thing is I very much disliked how often I had to use Seethe (and whatever the Warrior = was.). Felt like very single fight.

Raid feature so people stop expecting healers to heal them up after every wipe since even though it’s available some silly people don’t eat their food.

This part right here. Spec swapping empties your mana pool. If Recuperate restored even 50% mana it would be infinitely more useful of a feature.

That makes sense. I haven’t had that issue with Delves, and I don’t swap specs much.

It would be nice for those that need it, that way you can use food for the buff, and use the ability to heal up as needed.

Well, SWTOR is very different in that regard. You actually use your power there and it matters. Even now, I’m still using it often there.

But here, I’d be using it for times I drain it in Delves or swapping specs.

I dont see how it makes a lick of sense for a game company to remove the 100s+ methods of recovering mana it has added over 20 years.
Giving the ability even for half mana per recuperate cast is just poor desire on the players part.
Next, the players would want it updated for every patch/ expansion.

Homogenizing the game another couple inches.

Why the Blizzard team decided food only was to be added, as recuperate. Is a good question. If its going to be updated in a year or not, /shrug. We will see.

Its not half baked its working as intended. Who’s spreading misinformation now?
