The New Purple Troll Skin

Some races are getting options to sort of play new “races”. Like wildhammer and sand trolls.

So I was wondering…Do you think the new purple looking skin option trolls are getting is a Shatterspear or Dark Troll option?

Dark Trolls are a dark purple but they are near extinct and use the burly troll model in Mt. Hyjal. This is more of an issue for the male model. I think it could be pulled off well for females.

Shatterspear are jungle trolls that have a more purple looking skin, but the purple skin seems darker than what the shatterspear look like in darkshore (maybe it’s just me?)

True. There is that singular one left in zuldazar. She’s all by herself. But I wonder if they just said “whatever” and gave players the option to role play the idea of being a dark troll with the new purple troll skin. Because it looks very close to being one. Especially if you add in that awesome white war paint.

They were a subterranean species, so perhaps there is always the idea that maybe the Twilight Hammer never found all of them to wipe out.

You could be correct, this is just me spitballing … or possibly hoping haha since I’m a troll fanatic

There are sub trolls of dark trolls i believe but a majority of them are now night elfs.

I suppose that points to the purple skin being the shatterspear tribe then.

The reason I brought the question up was me making new troll “races” once the prepatch hits. The sand troll skin looks amazing and I’m excited to make one. I was debating on making the purple one if it was sort of their way of giving us dark trolls despite their race being practically extinct (as far as we know). I already have a Zandalari and jungle troll… so if it is the shatterspear tribe then I won’t make one since I already have a jungle troll.

Don’t let Blizzard forget the green forest troll skin option they showed off at Blizzcon is not in the game on beta or PTR.

Yeah that one had me extremely excited back when they first showed that green female troll. Forest Trolls are my all time favorite race, so that was definitely a tease lol.

I try to stay optimistic that the reason that green skin didn’t make it in is because the forest (and maybe ice) trolls will be a future upcoming new race. Using the more burly model, except updated to look better. Maybe a burly looking female as well.

I don’t really care about a Forest Troll skin if we don’t get Forest Troll bodies to put it on.

I remember them saying at some point, and Nzoth help me i cant remember who or when, that part of the goal with customization is to really enhance the fact that we are unique among our race. And the fact that there is only 1 champion, not 10 million or what ever.

So like, your character is one of the last dark trolls kinda thing.

If I give my belf blue eyes I am one “high elf” who stayed in silvermoon (or came back).

Thats how I see it anyway.

That’s a good way of looking at it. I’ll probably just go by that idea of being the “champion” and basically an exception to the rule.

I’ll make a female with the purple skin and just pretend she is a dark troll that somehow survived the twilight hammer purge.
