The announcement of the next major content patch brought a truckload of information. Some of it revealed the new visuals for the new Tier sets. After getting a decent set in season 2, I was hopeful for something cool, but instead we got this. For a second, I thought this was the mage’s set. I am a bit disappointed to be honest.

I’m not a fan of the set myself. Hunters wear mail gear and the graphics should reflect that. Our gear always seems to look like cloth or plate mail. It should have the looks of chain or scale mail so some extra visuals showing the chains or scales. Its not hard since back before WoW with Everquest they were doing it. That was back in 1999.
Heh hunters are getting the mage set reject this time.

I kinda like it. Got a bit of a “Ranger” vibe to it. Curious what the weapon models will be. Hoping for a cool void themed bow.

Ranger vibe. Nah, this screams spellcaster. They should have come out with something close to the Dark Ranger Hero Talent image. Please give us a cool hooded headpiece with a mask. Shoulders spike but not over the top. The Chest can have a cool Ranger symbol. Belt piece can have puches and kunais, maybe. Instead, we got a discarded mage set. Feels bad.

I literally typed “World of warcraft hunter in void themed armour with a void themed bow” into an AI image generator and it spat out something 1000x cooler than the recycled 5 year old greens trash they presented us with.

Who designed this and why? It is terrible but maybe with an explanation it wouldn’t be so bad…
I don’t know why anyone is surprised by this. Hunter tier appearances a meme for a reason. Judging by the white/blue set this s3 set is supposed to capture the look of Alleria’s new outfit… which is also dog 
so at least Blizzard is consistent.

I didnt like it at first, but its slowly growing on me. Looks more and more like a “Robin Hood” type set the more I look at it. Especially with the feather accents.
The white colored one is very close to Season 2 Priest, with a fewer gadgets here and there.
The more I look at it, the more I see this as an Assassin’s Creed themed Rogue Set, not Hunter. For me, the Druid Set looks closer to being a Hunter Themed Set, granted it’s more of a tribalistic, born-in-the-wild look.

But as is tradition of not using hunter gear tmog ever due to vast majority of them being incredibly bland
I was actually soso on the hunter sets at first. like I didn’t like them, but I also didn’t hate them, and I was even feeling vaguely positive about them not having a dead animal nailed to the shoulders even if I wasn’t liking the colour scheme.

Each set this expansion has been designed to reflect on the hero talents, so was already expecting a Night Elf esthetic to relate to Sentinel.
They really didn’t disappoint me as much as just took such a lazy approach to the design. Look wise it’s just last tier set with the Eagletalon Battlegear added. It clearly uninspired and could have been a scrapped set from another expansion.
Can we get the shaman tier designer to work on hunter gear please? Its always so much closer to a hunter theme than hunter sets ever are.

New to Hunter? LOL. It’s not perfect, but Season 2 Tier is pretty decent. Of course, I was too naive; I thought Season 3 would improve upon it.
the best “mail” set was the season 2 PvP set from BFA for hunters on horde side. It about the only “chain mail” i have seen in game.
