Yep yep, the changes to the guild permissions was a really bad idea but I'm thinking they're gonna address this if only because of the thread extensions.
LOL
Shamans have had probably 10's of thousands of pages over the past like.... 8 years and they JUST got a tiny talent rework in 8.1... rotation still sucks, survivability still sucks, utility (outside of resto) still sucks..... will never me a meta mythic plus contender.....
yea.... they'll fix guild UI when pigs fly
No yelling this post yet my passion has never been higher. Blizz please understand that weather u intended or not guilds have become something bigger and far more wonderful than anyone could have expected. I am a proud guild leader of an old old guild (may 10th 2005- inception) that has seen it all game wise but more importantly have become a family, a true family of caring people who have gone through RL struggles as well as game struggles together. We have lost people...after Katrina guildies from LA never came back, we still dont know their fate. A couple of years ago we lost an original member to illness, he and his wife played, she dosn't anymore, i miss them (RIP Rex). Not all sad though! We have sons growing up playing with fathers, new couples having babies and playing while pregnant, laughing, joking, being a real family helping and supporting each other in game and with RL issues. I met my wife in this guild, married for 5 years together for 8, we play every day still. To this day our motto is make new friends, help those who need it, persistence pays off, learning WOW is a blast and teaching it to new players is so rewarding to us. We love World of Warcraft, we love it so flippin much! Do you see Blizz? All these post from all these players are because we love your game and what it has given to us over the years, thank you truly for that Blizz =). So please read these pleas, look at these suggestions, understand our plight! Do not let our guilds fall...do not destroy our families. TY.
So, feeling slightly calmer now and continuing my exploration of earlier posts to this thread. At the point I've reached in my re-read (pages 32-34) there is a lot of discussion about whether we should be offering suggestions or remaining focused on the big issue of the all-in-one permissions. (This was before we got the non-thread feedback that said Blizz wanted more suggestions.) Here is an MVP post from page 34 addressing the situation:

So I know there has been numerous different perspectives on what should be done for the guild systems.
There seems to be two mindsets
1) Fix the permission system to how it was before the change
2) Improve the guild system with more flexible panel views for the roster, configuration, robust log system (seriously the log system is super super slow). Also include a better more full features permission system akin to more modern "role" based systems.
Number "1" obviously needs to take priority for Blizzard and should be patched before the next "minor" patch number 8.1 (.1 is the minor patch).
Number "2" should really not be exclusive to the next (9.0?!?) expansion release. Blizzard really needs to shoot for an 8.1 and 8.2 release to improve the guild system in relation to communities. They should also announce intention to do so to appease the current contention associated with these changes.
What net "positive" effect this thread has contributed to the community and Blizzard is a single point of reference what was working in the system before, but what was actually hard to work overall.
I think we can all concede that communities was a good step in the "communication" aspect of World of Warcraft. Guilds became a sub feature of the communities feature.
It seems Blizzard is maintaining a dual dynamic with the old system and the new, but broke one fundamental thing and that was the legacy full featured (though not very flexible) permission system. This is the only reason why we are still able to use the "/guildroster" command. It also points that Blizzard may of understood these changes could be problematic for guild masters.
The reason this was not really caught in Beta was the lack of preparation to test (if I recall the communities features were a bit late to the party). Obviously they were not focused test as much. This is ultimately where Blizzard "dropped the ball".
It's disappointing that even an MVP said the permission system is a priority that
needs to be fixed before 8.1, and yet here we are months since this stupid change went live and no fix in sight.
Imagine the jubilation that would erupt from a simple blue response in this thread that just said:
"Done".

Hell, I'd be happy with, "Hang on a sec, fixes coming for 8.1."
Live Dev Q&A today.
Everyone here should post the relevant question here:

If you still have officers, get them to ask too--let's make this issue impossible to ignore.

We all need to be sure to up vote this question:
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20769766993?page=1#post-15 which is on the first page and asks about our issue. (Posting our own questions is fine, and I did so, but I think they pay as much or more attention to up votes as they do to how many times the question is asked.)
Still being ignored, eh?
Maybe they figure if they ignore us, we'll just go away.
Maybe they're right.
Maybe that would be a bad thing. If we all just "went away."
If we want to get a response on today's LIVE QnA, I highly suggest upvoting this question, like venjin said.
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20769766993?page=1#post-15More upvotes on this, the more likely we get SOME KIND of response, which is all we want. Its only at 45 likes, let get to work people!
I know this is not the place for it.
I wrote a topic that talks about the importance in a new system for the guild.
There's alot of feedback and ideas there. what your thoughts?
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20769557225
The Death Knight starting area?!
THAT is being discussed over this?
WTF.
Welp looks like we got ignored again, next QA let's try to get more likes on the question and also phrase the question as a question so that they might consider using it
Suggestion: In order to receive and benefit from any Azerite Gear obtained in Mythic +, and in order to benefit from any further class balance changes, players must be an officer in a guild. In addition, sharding will be disabled if you are an officer in a guild. Warfronts will be disabled for you if you are not an officer in a guild, however, due to internal testing, you still may not queue for Warfronts as a guild group.
How we'd use it: To get some GD attention to our issue!
Looks like we're heading back to square 1 with these Q&As if the next one is just like today's.
Revert the Guild Permissions change please.

I posted nicely on every Q&A thread since July except for this one. Niceness has gotten us no where except Thread Cap Extensions. Ion nor any of the developers can't even say SOMETHING after a 90 page thread. But hell, they'll take time on the June Q&A to answer some stupid question about High Elves.

^^This folks^^That is (hopefully) the place to get the attention we want.
I up-voted the main question (50+ likes as of this writing)as well as up-voting all questions relating to Guild Ui permission and made my own question as well.
We all need to do this as this topic needs the visibility up-voting and asking the same question re: the guild us 100 times will hopefully give.
Share with your guild and have them up-vote and ask as well.
I feel like that entire Q&A was a replay of a certain song by Lily Allen.
BUMPING THIS CRAP BECAUSE IT'S BEEN ON THE DOCKET OF PLAYER QUESTIONS FOR ABOUT HALF A DOZEN FORMS OF Q&A NOW AND ITS STILL IGNORED.
SERIOUSLY, YOUR SILENCE IS DEAFENING BY THIS POINT.
Guild Community Feedback/UI
(Likely already mentioned but not reading 90 pages of posts to double check so I apologize in advance for any duplicates)
Missing in new UI vs. old Guild Roster
1. Ability to See Date Active and Sort by Date. This is very important for larger communities to be able to remove inactive players who haven't been around
2. Hierarchy based roles (not just officer role) for all abilities. For example the ability to promote should not be tied to an "is officer" check mark. The flexibility of the original UI enable far more customization and flexibility in leadership assistance. (IN other words the old GRoster worked just fine can we have that back as it was)
3. Guild chat being in a pop up frame that takes up your entire screen is problematic. Even more problematic is that is easily visible and very hard to cover for the numerous communities that have streamers. Guild chat tends to be private but you are unable to open that interface if you have a stream going. Do like the history of it being tracked even if not there - but it's impossible to use and still play the game and/or stream
Would be nice to have:
1. Better logging of what happened. Addons like Guild Audit and/or Guild Roster Manager provide more information such as the 'notes' of someone who left guild etc.
Communities: Because of many of the same challenges above especially it being in this huge pop up screen - we haven't used them. There are many different options outside of Warcraft that wouldn't be visible to all during streaming or taking up the game play screen that makes them virtually unusable.

Nor should you have to.
This issue should have been resolved by mid-August.
Yet here we are.
