A total non sequitur.
Thanks for the bump
I meanā¦ it was tangentially relevant since Brahmina had referenced buying granular guild permissions on the shop and being mad about buying tendies?
Yeah. I was mad that Blizz has no problem trying to make the trading post a hot item (I do like the t-post) but canāt fix things that Ion said they were fixing (e.g. the permissions).
My guess would be the same person that came up with the grand idea of not having loot go into the first open slot but have it go BACKWARDS from bag 2 and then locking your main bag so you cant undo it without a horribly made addon.
Well, I got the trading post done yesterday without really even trying. Just did some Brewfest, the Harvest festival, and the Darkmoon Faire. I guess they were giving too many points (wasnāt paying attention). But sheesh. I was wrong to think they were putting a lot of effort into the T-post instead of fixing the permissions. No, itās like theyāre not putting much effort into anything any more.
So. Now we have the answer as to why no one has time to fix the permissions (in spite of Ionās assertion that they were doing so). Blizz has been working hard on their mobile Rumble game.
Look, Iāve got no problem with them developing new games. Gotta keep coming up with new stuff or you get left behind. But why do they have to basically abandon the old stuff? I donāt see why they canāt develop Rumble AND fix the permissions. (Of course, Iāve never understood why they couldnāt have just fixed all the permissions when they fixed a few of them all those years ago.)
EDIT
Iām writing this because currently Iām not allowed to make any posts on the forums because the system says I have no active game time. Never mind that both of my accounts have six month recurring subscriptions that are plenty active. WTF, Blizz?
Edit 2: A helpful player on the Customer support forum solved my problem. Yay for the players who know what theyāre doing!
Different games, different teams. This is (un)common sense.
The game was developed by Incubation, which is an entirely separate entity from the WoW development team. Their job is solely mobile games.
I was just trying to make excuses for Blizz, but yāall blew those away.
Oh, look. No changes to the guild permissions.
Now that I think of it, maybe thatās not such a bad thing. I mean, this whole thread exists because of (unintentional) changes they made more than five years ago. While we really want them to put the permissions back the way they were, perhaps we havenāt thought this through. Can we actually trust Blizzard to āfixā the permissions, or are they more likely to mess them up further?
At this point they should make a post on the M$ forums since itās 9 more days till Phil Spencer takes over.
Does anyone think that will change anything for the better? I mean, I HOPE so, but I donāt believe it.
Not me! I expect more micro transactions and crud, myself.
I think that was always going to be the case no matter who is in charge.
Micro-transactions donāt bother me as long as they donāt truly improve a characterās power. Cosmetics are fine, though I feel there should always be a way to earn them in-game as well. I like that the Trading Post is taking things from the shop and making them available.
Now, if only there was a way to buy granular permissionsā¦
I would give them ALL MY TENDIES!
Iām mostly fine with the current micro-transaction situation, but as a completionist type, the idea that it might expand to the level of, say, FFXIVs store gives me a case of the howling fantods. I donāt love the current trend, which I expect will probably move from āhereās a bundle that just happens to include some tendies that correspond directly to a matching thing in the trading postā to outright buying tendies for money - I liked that the trading post felt like a participation reward separate from the regular economy, but Iām also not really surprised.
Oh Iām sure gold figures in there somewhereā¦
microsoft paid $69 billion for this
ā¦poetically appropriate?
Well, the last I looked, the game hadnāt imploded, and we still donāt have granular permissions. So far, the Microsoft deal doesnāt seem to have changed anything.
(Donāt be stupid. I KNOW nothing was going to change right away. Sheesh. Iām just typing stuff to make a post about our lack of granular permissions to keep the thread going. Give me a break, okay?)
