The new Forsaken items look AMAZING, but... why open to all races?

Chess stuff looks cool. Suggestion to eventually have alternate helms for every chess piece. Get a bunch of people together to play life-sized chess.

Life is meaningless in the cosmic forces, this game is ultimately meaningless, just let people have fun for the stupidly limited time we have on this planet. Ya’ll love that stupid syndrome quote, live & die by it…

Have you looked in the mirror?

You’re a literal lizard that can only soar.

These look great!! Very excited for them!
I just wish they would put this kind of effort into ingame event mogs and rewards

I’m a wizard lizard.

Like I said; the art team COMPLETELY knocked these designs out of the park! I’m also a big fan of the Chess pieces (and love the idea of different helms!).

I just hate having such thematic elements treated as “free for all”, when they are so clearly meant for the Forsaken.

Its a rough situation OP. I think the horses look good, but for the reasons you described, I think Sylvanas’ face (the Forsaken icon that is on the mounts and some of the gear) should be removed from them. These are the sort of horses I would have expected Forsaken to ride… prior to BFA. That is, prior to the Dark Lady forsaking the Forsaken. Its honestly weird to want that stamp unless you were/are a loyalist, which is fine to RP/enjoy, but it makes them exclusive to that RP- and so I feel quite happy to skip collecting them altogether.

Another example was the Warden armor.
Nightelf Wardens are lead by one of the most xenophobic leaders in the game.
The Horde burns our tree, and then gets to wear our Warden armor. You just have to subscribe for 12 months and do the corresponding bar fillup game to get it. I would have somewhat mollified if it was just an Alliance exclusive and the Horde got the Korkron outfit, or another such set. But here we are. The green and gold set doesn’t even match the existing Wardens Tabard from (edit) Legion.

Honestly, I think we can give up on Blizzard caring about this, at this point. Its not fantasy. Its permanant Halloween.
Like; “Fantastic. I cannot wait to go to war(craft) next to Xillidanx who is cosplaying as Work-from-home-Lilian, from accounting, dressed in cosmetic sweatshirts and sweatpants and brought a fish and a frypan as their weapon.”

I suppose some people will find this ironic, but its a point towards why I think that there is a case and a cause for all races/all classes. Personally I’d prefer if the development of the plot is long warranted to provide it, but its gaulling to read people who are so vocal against it, even if the lore can be delivered well, when the transmog gates are already open, and the horses, have bolted.

One of the new datamined items are Forsaken warglaives.

I think we can draw our own conclusion as to how locking those to Forsaken only wouldn’t work. lol

Since when has non-heritage culture themed armors been locked?

Sorry everyone. That mage armor from Legion’s not for you. It has the phoenix crest on it. Blood elves only.

Sorry everyone in Pandaria. Pandas only, make due with your Cataclysm gear until WoD. Hopefully you’re an orc or draenei or it’s gonna get real dicey!

No one cares about muh lore for locking cool things behind imaginary walls.

The Rule of Cool > All.

Ever since Vanilla, other faction races have been able to earn mounts and the like that isnt of their own race/faction…when Tabards embroidered with the sign of said faction were available people could wear those around…tons of Tier Sets have themes centered around particular factions…

No idea where these puritan peters are getting this notion of “keep rhe faction themed gear to the faction alone!” idea…must be a slow day for them

It’s quite possible that these were meant for other content and just dropped. But also Sylvanas still isn’t unpopular, despite BFA being so. And the whole sets are described as Banshee. The shoulders and the bow have a screaming banshee animation. They just are what they are.

It looks like a Priest tier set. Doesn’t even look Forsaken.

We don’t need any more restricted mogs.

Why was the Gilnean noble outfit available to all races?
Setting aside how it’s effectively just a gaudy recolor of another race’s more varied noble outfits…

What made it a gilnean noble set anyway apart from the name? Earthen dwarves wear the same thing in different colours.

I understand, I just think that they’d be even more popularly-used horses/gear without them. Which comes back around to the OPs complaint and the other side of the discussion. Players can enjoy Sylvanas in their meta observation, but imagine how the guards in Stormwind or Gilneas will feel about seeing someone with her emblem strolling the city without a care.

The Sylvanas gear was never locked down to just the horde or even more specifically blood elves or forsaken. I think there are bigger problems in this game.

It’s ok for races to get some flavor and exclusive cosmetics. So that players who like those races can stand out and enjoy their races lore/story. Let’s encourage them to do more for each race.

Yeah was going to mention the same thing. Devs these days seem intent of making sure nothing is unique and removing all character from the races, classes, and factions.
