The New Eye Glow Effect

I really like how the new eye glow looks on death knights and most races that were affected by this new change on the PTR, but I’m not quite sure how I feel about the Undead eye glow. Unfortunately, I’m not at the trust level to be able to post pictures of a comparison so I’m hoping someone can back me up here. To me, it looks and feels very plain compared to how it looks on some of the other races/death knights. The previous eyes look very ominous-like; yellow fog lights of a car in the fog. I understand why they made the change though(the glow was practically floating in front of their eyes).

I’m certainly not asking or demanding a change, just wondering what everyone else was thinking, or if anyone had any similar thoughts.

P.S. - First time posting, so hello to you all!

WElcome to the forums! Always glad to get those who play but majority never visit forums! we are great group of people. Do not take anything personal. Most threads are Opinions. Everyone has one and voices are heard and respected. Do not give in or respond to trolls.

Thanks! I appreciate the welcome!

Yeah, the new change to the undead almost slipped past me until I decided to start playing one. I went to go check it out on the Public Test Realm and I saw it. It just looked a little odd to me.

Wow. I will have to check it out on my undead @ barbershop after patch. That’s crazy. I wonder why. Maybe the wicked witch is gone. :joy::heart::+1:

Keep in mind that this is just a first step to the eye updates and there will be more polishing and changes coming in Shadowlands.

My hope is for the option to have less effects for those who dislike flashlights and fancy stuff.

Yes, options would be very nice as well. Perhaps these will just be the default eyes we get before further customization.

I like em too. I especially like the wispy effects they gave the Death Knights. I think the other classes and races are still a work in progress, but they already look better than they did before in my opinion. If they can add a bit of glow back and make it look more organic, that would be great… but the old glow just looked off. It didn’t look like the eyes were glowing so much as a point IN FRONT of the eyes was glowing, and I’m glad they changed it.

Definitely love the new Lich King eyes - makes me want to play my death knight more and more.

Hello!!

I’m very excited for the new eye change! Will probably spend a good amount of time in the barber shop adjusting my look (or not ) to accommodate the new change.

Gotta make sure the DK skin tones and my outfit looks well with the new eyes! :joy:

Same here! I like to stick to using the death knight skins for my character. Interesting how there’s one for each specialization. I could be wrong, but I see them like this: blood being the dark skin tone, unholy being the green-ish, and the pale for frost. Not sure if a dark skin tone usually symbolizes vampires, but I know pale could also be blood.

Exactly how I see it. Though I only run frost, I’m using the Unholy tone. Just makes my outfits stand out better right now.

:joy::laughing:

Understood. I can’t really see myself using any other skin tone than the pale one, maybe the green one. Either way, I think it’s a really cool feature.

Pretty much all races with an eye glow, Night elves, Blood elves and Undead got the glow removed.

Hopefully in Shadowlands, Undead will get more eye color options like Nathanos/Sylvanas Red or Eerie Blue (Lilian Voss among other have the Death Knight blue without being Death Knights).

It’s nice to have new people posting, I was new posting here till yesterday. I think that having the option to decide what kind of glow we want would be better than not having the option
