The changes to Restoration Druids are still disappointing. The designers have yet to address the lack of response tools in high-pressure situations. Apart from Convoke the Spirits, Tranquility can indeed serve as a solution, but after all these years, I still don’t understand why the designers haven’t allowed Tranquility to be cast while moving. Additionally, the skill Flourish was nerfed and has never been restored. In the new version, with everyone having an average health pool of 9 million, Restoration Druids, which are characterized by HoT (Heal over Time) healing, still have low numbers. Placing Photosynthesis and Flourish on the same talent choice is truly a foolish design. Also, after the Dragonflight tier set bonus was converted into a talent, its effect being reduced to 60% is simply too weak. Are they really not considering increasing the value of this talent? It really makes me question whether Blizzard’s designers have seriously considered and listened to player feedback. They always hypocritically claim they’ve heard the players, yet stubbornly refuse to make changes. I just don’t understand why the designers are so arrogant.
I agree florish was one of our ways of dealing with high amounta of damage and now its basically gone, along with adaptive swarm. Our rolling hots dont really have a burst anymore. Feels like our kit is missing something now. I do have to say the new pvp talent that causes hots to heal 20% faster 4 seconds after starsurge or combo finishers feels good.
feels like most of our power is from some sort of passive…that’s just not good design imo.
setting up for spam regrowths has been the worst iteration of druid i’ve ever played (worse than TBC Tree form). And yes, I think the classic version which i’ve been playing in HC is a lot better than TWW’s current model.
Feels horrible…just remember not to celebrate when they inevitably return some of our abilities…they shouldn’t have left in the first place
Probably time to reroll if it goes live as is. Looks like resto will be bottom tier for 11.1
But still an improvement from what we have now, isn’t it?
On the OP: The changes to the mastery are nice, but It defnitely needs more work to be competitive with the others.
Some of the things I’d like to see in the Talent Trees:
- Efflorescence swapping places with Soul of the Forest. In a PVP perspective, Efflorescence is basically a dead talent that we are forced to pick to access the bottom left side of the tree. Even if you found a rare situation where the PVP players are standing in one small spot consistently, there’s still better things to spend your mana on.
- Nourish needs to be stronger to be considered a viable pick. Not just that, but it needs to be included in Nature’s Swiftness. However I’d love it to be redesigned as an upgrade for Regrowth, that splashed the HoT component to other 2 targets, or something like that. Currently it lacks a defined identity with how Regrowth is today.
- Call of the Elder Druid should be a node option in the class tree with HotW. Then, Master Shapeshifter should move to CotED’s spot in the spec tree. Where they put Master Shapeshifter in makes zero sense competing with Liveliness.
As for the PVP talents:
- Ancient of Lore needs to be instant cast like ToL. There’s already too many downsides to the new tree (no instant Wrath spam and it moves really slowly), having a cast time tied to it completely negates the capacity to use as an emergency measure, because if you’re kicked, you have nothing else to heal.
- Disentanglement must be improved. Really, probably the only way you’d consider using Efflorescence in PVP, but it’s still not good enough to compete with other talents. It could get also the reverse effect of a short snare on your opponents.
