You actually have a talent for taking something and skewing it into something else entirely, and you seem to have a knack for honing in on details and extrapolating the most bad-faith inferences from those details.
Nobody has ever said the mount was expensive in isolation. They have, however, suggested that it’s expensive for a mount and for a premium-service game. Nobody is shaking in their boots because the mount is too price-y for them, we simply believe the mount shouldn’t cost that much, plain and simple. To extrapolate that the only reason why we feel that way is because we’re all just broke and poor is not only disingenuous, but is nothing more than a deflection for you to discard any opinion that disagrees with you. It’s easier to say “you’re just a brokie lmao” than to refute the arguments made, because you and everyone else personally know that the price is indefensible.
Logically speaking, there’s no reason for anyone to disagree with the notion that this mount should be cheaper. Why would you disagree with that? It being cheaper means you save more money. Even if you have all of the money in the world, surely you can agree that spending less money is a net benefit, correct? It’s why you buy things when they’re on sale rather than paying full price for it. Unless, of course, you’re about to tell me that you never buy things on sale and instead buy everything at full price all the time.
The only reason why you would is because you view this as some sort of big-spender luxury item, when it’s not, and you enjoy beating down on those who haven’t spent the money and have an aversion to spending money on it for valid reasons beyond “I don’t have the money to do so.”
That, and because you already shelled out the $90, it would make you look like a fool for Blizzard to lower the price, because it would be a direct acknowledgement that you overpaid for something. So rather than agree, you double down on the price and even go so far as to lash out at those in disagreement. You are the very definition of insecure, if we’re being blunt, because nobody who proclaims to be confident in their financial decisions, or rather claims to be affluent and well-off needs to go out of their way to put down anyone else who feels as though such a financial decision is excessive and gratuitous.
My instincts, given your reaction to the discussion, tell me that much of what you say is posturing. You’re running up and down these threads looking for people to disagree with because you think it’s impressive that you spent money on this thing. Rest assured, nobody is impressed by you. The mount has no value to me or anyone vocalizing their disappointment, so I’m not sure what it is you think you’re accomplishing whenever you whip out the good ol’ “lmao you’re just jealous and broke” argument.
But your dishonesty doesn’t just stop here, because you see, the average person values a bang for their buck. They don’t look at the innate value of what they’re paying for, but rather how much they’re getting in return. Even if we are to assume that you’re right, and that everyone here who hates the mount is just someone incapable of affording it, comparing it to spending money on a subscription is a completely dishonest comparison to make.
Because WoW is a fundamentally cheaper form of entertainment than any other form of entertainment. It gives you access to endless hours of entertainment and content at your disposal. $15 is a supremely easy justification to make when you’re considering what you get in return.
$90 for a mount is not so justifiable in a game greatly oversaturated with mounts, and it’s not justifiable when the most you’ll use it is either in a raid and/or when you don’t feel like running three feet over to the AH vendor while you AFK in the capital city. How you fail to infer any of these reasons and instead resort to it being a money-strapped issue is beyond me, but then again, it’s not unlike you to do so, so I can’t say I’m surprised.
In any case, this will likely fall on deaf ears. I don’t anticipate you to read any of this. Chances are, you’ll just cherry-pick some key points, throw out a few patronizing phrases and words, and then be on your merry way because it is lost on you to actually have a discourse on anything. You are a textbook troll who has no interest in promoting discourse, either because you’re incapable of doing so or because it brings you joy to do breed chaos instead.
Rant over.
