One sparklepony back in the day did that.
And well deserved because they left a game breaking bug in it all the way to WOL that melted people’s computers and wasn’t detected by windows kernel (no BSOD, just melt)

My issue with it is, and always was, that i recall the game destroying lag the green one created in BFA. and flying through Dorn, not even at peak hours, with my graohics at minimum (used to play at 7) is a 2 frames per second hellfest.
But i get to see a bunch of big ol dinos, i guess.
If it helps, I have also the problem when I do the Skyrider Racing across the city - while the rest of the game is always above 60fps.
The dino isn’t really a problem though in the long run. Enough people will have it, so even others can profit from it. But everyone should actually own this mount, if financial possible. It’s one of the top 3 mounts in wow.
I agree with you on its usefulness. For sure. And its absolutely easy enough to spot someone with it to make use of it.
My 3050 weeps at Dorn right now. Im trying to avoid it like the plague.
the sparkly pony made more money than wings of liberty up until that point
im talking all expansions and mtx
Im sure two sparkleponies did that, but only because sparkle ponies just make money hand over fist.
A more interesting metric would be if brutosaurs made more money than the current expansion.
It’s crazy that you can describe the anniversary mount as a “utility” mount and not immediately see why people might take issue with the $90 price tag.
Its crazy that you need to keep pretending its NOT a ‘utility’ mount that MANY people are perfectly fine with paying 90 bucks for just because it was released during the anniversary, lmao
I don’t want to reduce this to a “I have the money and you not”-issue but let’s turn the chess board around. It’s a mount, which you will use regularly because of the benefits it brings. It’s not a mount of the week, it’s a mount you’ll always have on your hotkeys, always use for every character and this alone is the price tag worth it, albeit too expensive.
The only crazy part is that people in their 40s lament that they won’t buy it, because they don’t have the money for it. That’s the real tragedy.
I want you to try and give me an MMORPG that has unique assets every time they add a new mount, as in new skeleton and isn’t a recolor.
Granted paying 90 bucks for it is BONKERS, but still the argument of it being a recolor tends to fall flat on its own face is when even FF14 doesn’t use unique assets all the time.
I don’t see you screaming about Squeenix using a recolor of the same Malboro or Cactuar, but oh no a recolor of a mount or mob in WoW is 100% egregious!?
Im practically living on mine, lmao…and Im not exaggerating.
SOOOO much easier when Im farming crap to just pop a mount than running back to an AH or mailing them 12 at a time…which STILL would end up with me having to track down a mailbox even with Eng because the CDs on our toy boxes is longer than it takes me to fill up my bags again.
which is exactly why this mount is good. you can ah anywhere in the world.
Right, and I never denied that it had utility. My point is that utility shouldn’t be a selling point for anything in this game. Utility implies impact on the game itself, which in turn puts the mount in a precarious position between superfluous/trivial and advantageous. By purchasing the mount, you are paying for a better experience. By not purchasing the mount, you are stuck with an inferior one.
Yes, I agree with you. But that’s life. The same issue was likely back in the day with the repair mammoth and the yak, that you gained a big advantage over other people. The old bruto became obsolete with the new and improved one - but now absolutely everyone has a chance to get this mount. But then again, the Bruto v1 owners had it for half a decade and this game them a superior feeling, while also blocking the post boxes for everyone.
Usually I turn every cent three times to see if there is value behind it. This was an instant purchase, it liberates everyone who has the money for it. But you have to play the game regularly to get the most of it.
and you know…have known…you CAN buy it with gold earned in game thru the token system…so your complaint ISNT a valid one by any stretch of the imagination
$90 is nothing but 3 door dashes with tacobell. That is nothing now days, and the fact you can pay it buy using in game gold. Its really nothing. I am sorry but if you have not figured out how to make a million or more gold every few months in this game. I feel sorry for you, I really do.
Well, no, it’s not life. World of Warcraft is a video game and Blizzard has the capacity to make the game so that everyone is equal and share the same experience. Incentivizing spending real money through game-impacting features makes that experience unequal.
I don’t know why but I feel that it will be - do you think they are able to make addons to the mount and have that function work? would be interesting.
It was not equal for the people, who didn’t had the time to earn the 5m or pay +$400 back in BfA. What you describe here is a double standard you have not paid any attention to.
No one is equal in a video game some have more than others, just as simple as that. Either they earn by skill, money in game or out. They belong to better groups to help them or what ever, but no one is really equal in a MMO-RPG.
