For the past few months, I’ve been running the AH to the Crafting Table, and then back to the mailbox, to the crafting table, then back to the AH for stuff I forgot.
I bought this within 5 minutes of hearing of it. I would have paid $200 or $300 for it.
The mailbox is incredibly convenient in town, but it’s even more convenient out of town when there are no mailboxes anywhere.
This mount is a huge QoL improvement, and the Mailbox is part of the reason.
I am definitely oldschool. And I would only buy it because it looks cool. I always wanted a longboi. But I am not interested in the vendors. But I might part with money for it. Way cheaper than the other brutosaur was.
I remember having the traveler mammoth before most people had it back in wrath, and 16 k was alot of gold for average player. My how that has changed lol. And I am super, SUPER broke now.
The mailbox is the most OP thing they could have added, being able to mount up in instanced content and even PvP, buy things from the AH and get them from the mail super fast is borderline pay2win.
Here’s hoping the next big mount they do has a summoning stone you can use with just yourself to summon people.
I have HATED crafting over the same thing…instead of standing in the AH crafting like I used to, now I have to have be at that stupid table. Very annoying and time wasting.
Finally started crafting again now that I can stand at the table and pop the mount when Im ready instead of running back and forth every 8 minutes lol
Somewhere there is a product manager laughing about how he got promoted for netting Blizz all this money “from this one easy trick”. He don’t care, got paid.
The mailbox is one of the best parts though, especially if you want to need to buy things off the AH for raid, and realize this in the raid.
Also, as someone with motion sickness having something that cuts down on unnecessary movement for crafting is really, really nice.
I wanted it for both. I never have to leave my farm spot now. I can farm, skin, DE, sell, and send all without heading to town. Add in the yak mount and I can vendor my trash, too, all with no cd’s. The mount could have looked like a cardboard box and I would have bought it just for the functionality. While a barber shop mount would be a neat addition, it’s not something I’d buy. I maybe go to one once every six months, if that.
Honestly the failure or not is really dependent on how many are bought. If a lot is sold then it’s not really a failure well in Blizzard’s eyes anyway and honestly for them that’s all that matters.
I see the mount everywhere so don’t see it as a failure. Aesthetics is always subjective but that’s not the measure Blizzard is really using.
