So as I stubbled upon a " fabulous " Asmongold video, I decided to stay because the subject interested me, some guy talking about what 9.2 system looked like. At first it sounded fine, a " talent " tree, with things to unlock using a newly created currency that you can get literally anywhere in the zone, unlocking cosmetics, exploration perks, and more. Sounds good !
But then I heard the sentence, the one, the only thing, that almost made me puke. " Each skills has a timer to be unlocked, starting from 1 hour all the way to 1 week⊠"
No⊠it canât be right⊠right ?.. This canât be happening⊠Blizzard could still not have learned their lesson ?.. It canât be⊠What ? O-oh ? The achievement to fly only takes about half a month ? Itâs not too bad then ! Half a month, thatâs a little more then 2 weeks ! Ahhh itâll be fin- w-what ? The achievement was re-⊠reworked ?.. Now requires⊠close to a full month ?.. How is that⊠possible⊠I can now act as Illidan, and tell Blizzard " You are not prepared⊠to move forward in your video game -.- "
Anyhow, hereâs my thoughts, really simple, make it unlock instantly when you have the currency, make the required currency a little higher, but not so much, make it have no cap, and let the players that wants to farm it in a week farm it in a week, and those who want to chill get it eventually, but without having to wait a full week when they reach the last trait. Itâs the stupidest system Iâve seen so far, not even a questline, not even a chapter, just a time-gated talent tree for the zone, that 50% of itâs entirety will become useless once you unlock flying.
Most people had that second legendary slot unlocked long before they got their first legendary.
@OP, the fact that they are doing this is simply a reflection of the fact that their workplace is in such a turmoil with long-term productive workers continuing to leave and huge hiring issues (seriously, why choose a job with Blizzard now if you had any other choice?) and top managers jockeying for territory while trying to avoid changing the workplace culture they still cling to.
They canât create any real content now. Youâre seeing minor tweaks to stuff that was close to ready at 9.0.
âFabulousâ and âAsmongoldâ donât belong in the same paragraph, much less the same post.
The bloke is a harpy at this point, shrieking about how Blizzard sucks, how WoW sucks etc, and all I can think is: âThen stop talking about it and play something else, go waste your and your fans time elsewhere playing Final Fantasy or something.â
This just inâŠ
Ion doesnât like flying and is a passive aggressive egomaniac that enjoys punishing those of us that enjoy flight.
More next patchâŠ
Iâm conflicted, having a crack at Blizzard because of their flying nonsense makes me want to hit the like button but saying something positive about that person makes me want to hit the dislike button lol
I like that they make us earn it. MMOs arenât meant to be binge played in a few weeks like console games. Itâs nice having things to unlock as you do other stuff.
Sheâs all like: âWhy canât you just take your time and enjoy the game?â
Then, Iâm all like: âWhy canât you just let me get to max level so I can start to play the game again?â
Then, sheâs all like: âYouâre playing the game now, idiot.â
And then, Iâm all like: âYou just really donât know me, do you?â
Players dying due to over farming and staying awake are stupid, and it isnât Blizzardâs fault for their actions.
The real thing they should do is either, as I said, donât put a cap, allow players to farm the crap out of it if they want to, that would make high end player reach it faster, and casual players reach it as it already is.
Now a second option would be to NOT put the unlock timer, but to put a cap of currency per week or days. So okay itâs not time gated by the badly though of timer, but it would be time gated by the currency cap which would increase each weeks, ending up at enough to get everything, and allowing alts to make it faster.
Currently itâs not account wide, the system isnât I mean, the achievement yes. So if you have alts youâll have to farms once more per alts, but also wait at least 26 days with each alts, how tf does that even make sense ? Oh oh ! And that 26 days is only if you unlock the next thing the second the previous one ends, which is more then unlikely. So yeah, bad system. Bad idea, bad Blizzard.
Youâre excited about a talent tree you have to unlock by grinding a currency?
So⊠covenants and Anima all over again but this time actually tied to player power?
Cause covenants are âtalentsâ that are unlocked by grinding âcurrencyâ anywhere in the zone of shadowlandsâŠ
Hard pass. Thanks anyway. I am tired of systems upon systems.
What we need is a talent tree system like we currently have except add two more rows. Have these rows be âexpansionâ talents that change every expansion but are super powerful and cost nothing to unlock. But the other talents stay the same expansion to expansion so people can feel some reliability from their class flavor and stop completely changing the nature of classes people have spent thousands of hours playing only to get the carpet yanked up from under themâŠ
And Iâll go one step further into insanity. Use all that extra time you spent on covenants and âsystemsâ to throw yourself head first into an absolutely amazing and engaging story line, cinematic, make professions good again without tying them to legendaries that cost a fortune and most important of allâŠoverhaul that dang RNG vault of weekly disappointment!!! It needs to be way smarter.
Although I agree with you on some points, I think the vault is fine. Maybe a little adjustment when it comes to having the same loot every week for a couple weeks straight which is frustrating, but you have 9 choices possible, if you work hard enough to get some youâll be fine. As a casual player I was getting Mythic+ 2/3 and raid 3/3 every week which was always giving me something thatâs an upgrade
