hard to remember the last time i went “oh wow i cant wait to get one of those” was when i glossed over all the new tames on petopia

Agreed, it the last patch I hope for something unique. In actuality there was more beasts on the PTR that were removed from the list before live.
DF last area gave Hunters a whole quest line to tame bramble beasts, and a SB that require tackling footprints.
Blizzard was in a hurry to get this end area out.

Couldnt agree more. Worst patch for pets in a long time.
the nightreaver is a sick tame. keeps its phased appearance.
Sure, its a decent enough tame, but many beasts were pulled from the taming tables before the patch launched. So, it kind of feels bad that we could tame some on PTR and now we can’t. And don’t even get me started on the lack of Spirit Beasts. We got Aradan at expansion launch, and he’s basically just a revamped spectral gryphon.

This last patch you can really tell with all the bugs that it was pushed out, and Blizzard has turned their attention to Midnight.
They likely had a smaller team working on this patch and different designers wanted to have more beasts, but were told to cut them out cause of time.
There is a pink fox that I like and snagged two, but yeah… There’s a disappointing lack of tames this patch.
Then some of the beasts are not visible unless your in the phased mode, which you ca not access until you finish the quest line for the cloak.
Some beasts fly too high to reach that require flying, but you can not fly in phased mode.
The tames were a complete after thought. Surprised they were even added. Most likely they had too, or chances that less Hunter mains would return.
You can get all the birds, no? just adventure up to a cliff.
I been looking for the right one. However, still a pain that you have to phase to see them. There’s nothing special about them.
If they had added a rare bird that required phase jumping, and then trick tame of having to pull it by jumping from a cliff than Disengage before hitting the ground. That be exciting way of using your Huntering knowledge, and having a unique way of taming a rare.
You have to phase cause they got snapped when Karesh got shattered iirc
Yes, the lore, but I thought they would be in domes as a normal npc, or they mutated from the natural fauna we are to bring back from Azeroth.
To keep with appearances the birds should only be visible in phase jump, so when you are outside of it it looks like you don’t have a pet.
Me and phase glitter nether ray say you can kick rocks my dude.

Agreed. When I was in the Grub Stompin’ area losing my mind at the horrendous spawn rate, I aggroed a Death Scavenger. Thought “Cool, new tame! a sort of voidthing feathermane thing”…
It can’t be tamed…
I like the new glowy Crawg myself, called him Nightlite, lol. But I have to agree that I’m saddened by there not being more you can tame or some besides the Crawg and Cosmic Ray that keep that interesting ethereal effect even outside the Phase Walking.
Was kinda hoping we could tame those critters from Korthia in this patch or maybe even that cool Void Dragon, seen an elite that isn’t the world boss wandering about that would be neat to tame.
