There is a real a problem right now. I can hardly play the game. Everytime I log in, there are hundreds if not thousands of names that violate the naming rules, and I have to do my good semaritan duty to report them all.
Here is how I suggest fixing this broken system. Your name gets reported, name change. Your name gets reported, name change. But on the third strike. You lose all ability to name any of your characters, now and forever more, you will be required to use the name generator.
No more garbage names and a less toxic community. Win win

This only really applies to RP servers, and even then, only if RPers care.
If anything, it’s just a walking red flag so I know not to try and initiate RP with someone who clearly doesn’t care about it.

Here is how it works.
Name gets reported. Name change.
At some point you lose the ability to name or namechange that toon
Locked name and suspensions are not necessarily in order. The punishment t is fine. Right click report and move on.

I couldn’t imagine being so triggered over a video game name that I spend all my play time sitting around reporting people in game and on the forum.

I RP as a name policeman. I walk around Stormwind in my Stormwind Guard outfit and verify every person coming out of the mage tower.
The name generator can potentially be just as terrible. Do you have any idea how many vaguely similar variations of “a.nus” pop up, for example?
