The music hasn’t been good in awhile The last WoW song I liked was Boralus ( Classic Battle E).
Some of the best music in gaming is in WoW like Nightsong, War or Way of the Monk and many more but lately it’s all been pretty forgettable imo.
DF music is actually pretty good. But nothing will ever be great after they fired Russell Brower.

Also MoP, BFA, and Legion all had killer soundtracks too

I could sit in Azure Span for hours and hours just on the music there alone.

DF is particularly not great in this regard. Waking Shores is downright bottom tier - discount Asian F2P MMO. same with Thaldraszus and Valdrakken.
Azure Span is stellar.
Ohnarahn Plains has that one Centaur theme that slaps.
But aside from that, this expansion feels very un-warcraft musically.

I was going to say that. I spent a lot of time fishing there and the music inspired me to keep casting.

I didn’t like the DF soundtrack when I listened to it on Spotify, but I think it’s a lot better in-game.
Azure Span is really the only worthwhile, standout stuff musicality in this expansion so you’re not totally wrong.
Nothing in this expansion so far is like “City of Gold”, “Zandalar Forever”, “Daughter of the Sea”, “Boralus”, “De Other Side”, etc. Heck even Bastion, Castle Nathria etc had great themes.
And let’s not even bring up older stuff like A Siege of Worlds, Anduin’s theme, Way of the Monk etc.

Agreed. Outland, Cata, MoP, WoD, Legion, and BfA all had stellar music in them that really stands out and impresses. No such thing in DF so far. And for those who like Azure Span music, I’d say it is passable, but not memorable.
Grizzly Hills soundtrack is better than the sequel.

Other than Azure Span the only tracks I liked the last 2 expansions were the Anduin fight in Sepulcher (one of the best in the game IMO) and the Forsworn theme.

I think his best was the legion login music “Kingdoms will Burn” it still gives me goosebumps to this day. And who knows, he could have developed the DF music, he did say that he would likely work with Blizzard as a freelance composer.
