The Mourning Rise storyline hits hard

For anyone that has had, or has been witness to see a person with dementia or Alzheimer, it was very moving to see this story unfold with Urtago and Korgran’s story. Seeing the final moments of a great person until you watch in horror how it loses his thinking ability and all memories being taken away. It’s really really sad.
Kudos to WoW team to include this amazing story.

My grandmother passed away from alzheimer’s and it was a slow sad descent. I’ve played through this quest line with several characters and it always makes me emotional. Glad I’m not alone in that!

This questline / story is why I found it kind of annoying @ the archives stuff when they later set in the lore that they “didn’t need” their memories taken — and that their reset or whatever it was called, was simply designed to remove any of Azeroth’s world-soul influence from them and purged their memories to keep them compliant.

Unless it’s later established the Titans or Keepers had implemented a faulty-failsafe to ensure their minds would deteriorate if they didn’t undergo the process, but yeah it felt like they missed that.

Lore-inconsistency irks aside, it was a good story.

I’m guessing it is either deliberate or a consequence of constant memory cycling, but I had similar questions after that archive.
