I was just wondering what cringy things people have experienced when playing wow - this could either be wow content or player interactions. I will start.
As far as wow content, I would have to say the whole Tyrande and Malfurion interaction in legion when Malfurion was abducted.
As far as player interactions, this undead warlock toon was hit on by this guy. I cannot remember what he said but it was really really cringy. Even after I told him that I am a guy, he kept going - message after message. I ended up logging off.
So what are your stories?

Most of the guild advertising in chat is beyond cringy. Super edgy kiddy guild advertising to the Christian and LGBTQ friendly guild advertising. Pure cringe.

Did you ever do the old Well of Eternity dungeon? “Hush, Tyrande!”

I have a few. I started on Dalaran in legion in a guild that promotes helping people and being kind, which is awesome. But, they also had this “battle cry” that the guild leader would want us to flood trade with. Yuck.
And, I’ve had a guy message me in a dungeon while leveling a low level toon and he was tanking it. Kept dying because he was too busy messaging me trying to find out if I’m a real girl. When I said “yeah, and?” he wiped yet again, and I called him out in the instance chat and we kicked him.

Way back in Classic I played a Rogue. I was friends with a guy who I quested with, and we talked almost nonstop when we were both on. I thought he was a really cool person.
But then he rolled a Rogue, and he wanted to know what talents I was using. (Talent trees were much more complicated back then.) When I told him he said I was doing it all wrong and should choose the talents he did, and play the way he does. I told him thanks for the advice but I love how my char is set up and would prefer to keep her that way.
Well, he went ballistic. He called me every filthy name you can think of to the point I had to place him on ignore. So he started making alt after alt and kept whispering this filth to me. This went on for days.
I finally decided to set my Rogue aside for awhile and rolled a new alt, hoping things would soon cool down, but when I did log on my Rogue I had a bunch of filthy in game emails from him. I put in a ticket, the GM read the emails, and I never saw this guy again.
I never did figure out why this bothered him so much that he would throw away what I thought was a good friendship, and risk being banned.

I cringe every time I see the word “cringy.” Does this count?
Maybe I’m old.

During hfc we pugged in a bear tank during a guild fun run. We quickly dubbed him story time druid because he wouldn’t shut the hell up. He started claiming that he was in a 20 man team, all girls except him, that would constantly hit on him and that he had like 19 internet girlfriends, just to impress us. It was awkward af

People RP’ing in dungeons, especially heroic dungeons pugs, will never not make me cringe.
Other than that, yah.
"WHERE ARE YOU TYRANDE! I NEED YOU!"
"I’M COMING MY LOVE"

It was probably cringy, I was laughing too hard to care.
I was on my Demon Hunter alt, beating up one of the tanking dummies aboard the Felhammer trying to figure out DH tanking. It was getting stacked up really high and healing myself was starting to get interesting.
This Havoc DH rolls up and starts hitting on Her. (G.I.R.L. here, found it hilarious.) He then proceeds to start hitting the dummy, too, trying to show off DPS. I say nothing, and just back away.
Aggro switches.
He dies in 1 hit.
Probably closer to comedy than cringy… but that’s all I’ve got while actually playing WoW.

It may have been sarcasm to illustrate another point of cringy experience…
