It is genuinely impressive to see such a strong negative correlation between the amount of money blizzard makes and the quality of their product.
It is now standard for our friends list’s to simply not show up anymore.
inviting friends to a group doesnt work half the time.
Random resets.
Etc, etc.
Blizzard prioritizes wokeness over skill and experience in their developers now.
And that evoker starting zone holy shhhhhh i laughed at how bad it was!
Oh hey, wanna contact support, ever? good luck! its nearly impossible to even find an avenue to open a ticket and then youll wait over a week for a response.
How can a major gaming company be so bad at what they do lol
It genuinely surprises me how many people apparently play this game, despite claiming they don’t enjoy it or like it.
Source : Make a thread titled “what was the last expansion you enjoyed”. You will see an overwhelming amount of responses showing that people have not enjoyed playing WoW in a long time, yet they still play it.
I’ve notoriously defended blizzard against the echo chamber of cry babies that make up this forum. I always receive an overwhelmingly negative response from the players who claim defending blizzard is like defending the devil.
go look at my post history if you care enough lol.
that being said, im just making a review of the game right now. a non biased one too.
not crying because of game design or game style CHOICES blizzard makes.
i think its childish to complain about an artists work and demand they make it your way instead.
but the bugs, lack of customer support, and money chugging are things that warrant complaints.
Because what makes money isn’t always directly related to making something ‘fun’ (which is an entirely subjective term in itself). If it was the case, then EA would’ve been bankrupt ages ago.
This has nothing to do with anything when it comes to actual technical competency. When you get a bunch of new hires, or outsource an external team, it takes a significant amount of time to get them up to the date with all the legacy code. Replacing someone in tech isn’t as easy as just “ok here’s some documents you can read in 1 week to get up to speed.” You have to fully understand the thought process behind the code, and the complexity is exponentially increased due to how old the game is.
The only real issue you can focus on is that the creative talent that formed the game have left the company, and we’re left with a new group of people who have their own preferences and vision of the game. If you’ve done ANY sort of creative work, you’d understand that people create from their own understanding of the world. If you hold it to the same standard, then you’ll be disappointed because you’re not getting the same creative talent.
This is like getting upset over why X-Men First Class was so different in quality from X-Men Age of Apocalypse. You have different directors, cinematography, and screenwriters.
I’d say that’s its fair to have criticism or distaste, but then it’s your own responsibility to decide for yourself if you want to keep supporting the game. If you choose to do so despite not liking what you see, then own up to the fact that you have an unhealthy relationship with your own vitriol.
brother im a professional software developer and im currently senior dev lead where i work.
i interview, hire, and fire. i assure you i know what im talking about lol.
nothing you said related to my point either.
that doesnt change the fact that prioritizing things like race, political views, gender, etc has an impact when choosing a diversity hire over an experienced hire solely for the purpose of being more diverse. ive seen this in real time at a previous job, but you dont have to have that first hand experience to understand this concept.
But ultimately, I am probably off target here. This probably isnt even about the skill of the developers but more so impossible deadlines and the company cutting corners on QA and testing.
ALSO lmao:
Me: complains about lack of customer support, alarmingly increased amount of breaking bugs, other technical issues.
Yup exactly. Blizzard has become awful with QA and testing. I’m too lazy to read up about the details, but I won’t be surprised if the higher ups just set arbitrary deadlines and the developers have settled with a culture of cutting corners and taking short-cuts.
You associated ‘woke’ with declining quality instead of going into to the more pressing and obvious issues. It’s not my fault you decided to use that heuristic lmao
you speak well but your words are rooted in very poor logic.
“if you have any complaint about a product you consume and you dont drop it immediately then you have an uNhEaLtHy ReLaTiOnShIp WiTh YoUr OwN vItRiOl.”
no offense meant but, it really doesnt seem like you know what you are talking about
