So after exploring this quest properly for the first time in many many years, I noticed a few times through out it gets brought up that their “Plan A” failed.
Is this a reference to some other quest? I feel like it being brought up 3 times in the questline must mean its a reference to something, especially as the one time its brought up its alongside a quip about those “damn adventurers” and citizens of stormwind thwarting the plans.
Does anyone know anything about anything like that?
It’s a Defias scheme, so I took “Plan A” to mean the Van Cleef efforts in the Deadmines, which also are plot tied to content in the Stormwind Stockade IIRC. “Damn adventurers” in Part 9 would be whomever cleared the dungeon(s). I think the Defias plotline is one of WoW’s best, tying together all the early human zones, two dungeons, and finally the Missing Diplomat with its trip to Wetlands and Theramore. You don’t always see that kind of careful plotting in games.
Interesting, you are probably right. I hadn’t realized that the Deadmines storylines were directly relating to this, but it must be what they are referring to.
