The minimum ilvl to que for Heroics is now the same as lfr?

I usually gear my chars for lfr through heroics…
was this intended or is it some kind of bug? I’m confused

Yeah, it’s weird, with the slight increase in item level with the reset this week now 5 man Heroic require 567 to queue for but normals drop 554, that can’t be upgraded.
You need to use valorstone upgrades on world drops, world events, and crafted pieces just to get into heroics as being fully decked out in 5 man normal loot wont be high enough item level like it was in the previous week.

yeah after scanning the forums i saw that…
I hate crafting and I don’t enjoy world quests, either. I haven’t found delves to my taste, but I didn’t care cause I had the usual gearing path through dungeons. None of the normal dungeon gear is upgradable…
I’ve always gone the normal dungeon-heroic-lfr route cause that’s what i personally enjoy.
this is lame, they’ve basically railroaded ppl into needing to do world events or buy/learn to craft gear if you’re largely a solo player.
it also messes with my plans to gear alts, cause now none of them can easily get into heroics.

I don’t understand the logic behind making the gear 554 and non-upgradable. It basically makes normal dungeons useless at max level, where in the past it was an avenue to get gear to get into heroics/LFR

while it’s not logical, i’ve just been buying green gear from the ah that is ilvl 561 for about 300 gold each and going straight into heroics and lfr on my fresh level 80s. you have to get a couple blue items from world quests and use your valor tokens from the valor tokens upgrades quest that gives you free tokens but overall I think it’s never been faster or easier to get into heroics/lfr ilvl range than it is currently.

That’s definitely true, and you can upgrade gear from world quests and the cache boxes from the events (theatre troupe, awakening the machine) it’s just really awkward how normals are now too low an item level to get into heroics.

Maybe making the normal 5 man gear upgradable would solve the issue.

How exactly does this work. The ilvl req for heroics is 467, not 461. Even with the epic boe trinkets im not even close.
