The mindset of “I must do everything or else”

The mindset of I must do everything and must catch up and over gear and push higher and higher content. Like seriously? what do you gain from the “I must do everything” mindset? Like for example I must do mythics and or raids in order to stay relevant and stay on the same page as everyone else. Based on what fundamental fact that you MUST be like everyone else or else you would be labeled as “otherwise”. Like seriously where does this mindset stem from?

And also where does this mindset of being benched because you’re not good enough or that you’re not geared enough? Where did this mindset or behavior come from and who or what started it and proliferated this mindset?

And yet some blame blizzard and won’t blame themselves for this type of behavior. Also, why have blizzard to police content when later the same people who ask for enforcement would whine about timegate or saying things like stop drop feeding content or what not.

Fact? I don’t follow. You specifically stated:

That’s not a fact-based situation.

Some want to remain relevant for their friends, guild, as leader, etc. Why do you seem upset about what others wish to do?

Do you just not raid? Like… ever?

looks at armory page

Apparently not. So you’re coming from an entirely different mindset than some raid leaders, guild leaders, raiding guilds, progression players.

Which is fine… but… your thread sounds rather accusatory, instead of simple curiosity.

Edit, because you edited your post…

So you are being accusatory without having any knowledge of what you’re talking about, as you don’t raid or do prog content. Got it.

Adding to what I have said…

When being benched how else would that persons character be geared or otherwise? It’s hypocritical. And also, it’s not even helpful just to bench someone for one reason or another reason. If you want people to improve let them keep on trying instead of having a mindset that we must be number 1 on everything or server first on everything because of that or this reason.

Some of you just like to make up excuses for whatever reason to behave the way you are. And why do you think people see WOW more toxic than say any other mmo because of this very reason or at least this obvious reason.

And why do you think people ask blizzard or requested it that blizzard to make more solo content or alternative content for certain types of players? Because those types of players are either done with it or just completely out of it and want content that they can clear themselves without other people.

And also, the respect my time crowd your hands aren’t clean either because of all of this blizzard is much more heavy handed on its contents. Before it was light handed but now you want everything to be policed just because you can’t contain yourself nor enforce your own behaviors.

I’m confused about what you’re asking in this post. Are you saying that hardcore players are interfering with your non-hardcore playstyle? Who is labeling you as “otherwise” in the game because you are not hardcore? No one forces you to play a certain way. You’re the one paying to play, you choose what you do.

This has just existed since the dawn of MMOs. If you can’t contribute to the group in assisting in a raid or dungeon fight, yeah, you’ll get benched unless the group agrees to carry you or you pay a group to do so. I’ve never had anyone label me as “otherwise,” just “casual.” I never saw anything wrong with the label because I do play casually. I’ve been playing about sixteen years now, I’m older and don’t have time to deal with endgame stuff.

I used to do progressive content and I got burned out and bored of it over the years. Now I just log on and do whatever my heart desires because there’s just a ton of stuff to do. I have no shortage of content. Dungeons and raids are the competitive scene in the endgame, yes, but no one says you must do it.

Yes, to get the same level of gear that other players acquire, you must do raids and mythics, that’s just how WoW works. I don’t understand this, lol.

I already did everything so I’m good

Source please?

Glad I’m not the only one.

Why I am typing this is because every other day and or months I hear the same story. On why this or why that. I am glad blizzard is ending by going all in on solo content and making the game far more solo friendly and introducing alternative content for more equivalent gear paths without group play. And adding housing would promote even more solo activities. And I hope one day that these alternatives would make group play irrelevant and or stagnate over time.

I sincerely wish players like you would go find a single player game to play.

why are you here, if you hate playing with other people so much

See, at least I’m a nice solo player. I’m glad there’s a lot of group content in wow. I’m also glad we’re starting to see some more solo content like delves.

We can all be happy in this game.

Well, if somebody wants to do something then sometimes you need to do things to do it. Lol

More so on how people behave and always moaning and crowing about this and that. And I am glad that blizzard is finally pivoting towards solo activities and solo alternatives than say keep using the same old system. And only focusing on group play when I keep hearing a bunch of people who keep making videos or Reddit post or tweets about the same subject. I am very glad that in midnight the game is going for more solo content and alternative content for gears.

Delves already let you easily get a full hero set and grind out ilvl 681 crafts over a long period of time entirely solo. What are you even mad about?

Is the issue you got benched?

It works like this:

  • Reach max level
  • Do normal or heroic dungeons (even Timewalking if active). Get vault slots unlocked for the week. Get some epic pieces from vault. You can change non-tier pieces into tier.
  • Do Delves. Get some gear.
  • Join M+ groups. Get some gear.
  • Do LFR.
  • Do Normal
  • Do Heroic
  • Do Mythic

Honestly, it’s easier to get geared in the game now than it ever was, you don’t even have to raid to get tier pieces anymore. The more of the game you play, the more becomes available.

WoW is a multiplayer game. I spend most of my time in the game alone and I still could join groups for anything I wanted, if I even wanted to anymore. It really is just finding something you enjoy and just doing it because it’s fun. You’re not forced to play a certain way, it’s all a choice.

I personally play on my own because every guild I’ve been in has split up or I got roped into some stupid drama between other members. Some people play alone because some people in the game don’t know how to socialize. I can’t entirely blame OP for wanting solo content, but I get the frustration.

You’re kinda doing that right now, bud. People are free to voice their concerns. I don’t think you’ve even explained what they’re “moaning” about.

Stay off of Reddit and Xitter?

I am only pointing out that others like me or those who are disillusioned with the old system of doing things are starting to change for the better. Especially in midnight expansion where things are looking brighter for those who are sick and tired of the current system. And yes the current system is already better but midnight is where the true changes begins and last Titan too.

What changes in midnight?
