/shrug it’s not really different than a high pop server back in the day.
actually lost…
you could actually earn a bad reputation and nobody would group with you, there’s literally infinite people on these servers, the horrible toxic people can abuse, and do.
Same thing happened on high pop servers back in the day people did horrible things all the time and it didn’t matter.
It did matter. There were human & American GMs.
For some parts of the game, especially leveling, some really jsut don’t care.
Player X is an evil loot ninjya!
I don’t care. Its a run for leveling XP. They are a solid player so the run will suck less most likely. And RNG hates me.
As if I’d win the /roll war in a need battle anyway. even againt legit need rolls I have a decent chance of losing.
You don’t care, and you also aren’t bright enough to differentiate between people and an automated addon typing in gchat. I guess you do represent the modern player.
Bunch of anti social people trying to blame mega servers for people not liking them.
?
Megaservers are antisocial by nature
I may copy my hunter and put her over on Grobb at the end of vanilla on NS, assuming we get that choice again.
I know its automated. see the automated now you go so…who is going to Onyxia in 10 minutes. what the message was, onyxia was reseting soon on a layer.
Same for automated BG’s. Sometimes its nice to know TB or WG is coming in up say cata when you lose track of time.
And the guild chat is there for other things.
Or yeah some can go this server is filled with butthats. The thing is…
if one leaves the house and meets 10 people, 1 of them they find is butthat. its a good chance they may actually be a butthat.
If one leave the house and meets 10 people, and all 10 are butthats. there is decent chance there is a butthat. And its not the 10 people lol.
A high pop server back in the day would be considered ‘dead’ by today’s standards. Blizz even said that. That the low designation now would be high back then.
He’s just another person who’s been fooled by Blizz’s ridiculous definitions these days. Megaservers are a cancer in Classic.
Your community is exactly what you make of it.
Mega servers have nothing to do with interfering with your community.
I think its also worth pointing out to OP the role that layers had in creating megaservers.
Initially, layers were temporary, and their capacity was very limited. Server queues caused many people to roll on less populated servers. However now queues have been all but abolished as layers allow perhaps up to 20,000 people online per layer at once. That is insane. Essentially every server now has a near infinite capacity. Not only are layers anti-classic but they have helped in part to create these megaservers.
(It is ALSO worth pointing out that most servers from 2019 died when Blizzard permanently turned on layering circa fall 2021. Until then there were maybe 40 healthy servers. Now in Cataclysm we have maybe less than 10.)
They died because people xfered to more populated servers lmfao.
Do you think they would have died if these more populated servers had queue times?
Don’t acknowledge the female gnome. They will eventually just go away.
Queue times are terrible for the game.
If you think 3 hour queue times are better than layers you play on low pop servers.
Yea cuz I always destroy stupid arguments.
Megaservers with a million layers are terrible for the game. Hence why Classic is on life support now.
Name 1 server that had “a million layers”?
