Welp…we’re dealing with another expansion where you kill 10 animals the size of large draft horses to get one piece of meat…for a recipe that requires 3 pieces per cooking cast.
Really? Really, Blizzard? Again with the Goretusks who have no livers?
I get that you want cooking to take longer to level, and that’s fine, but we’re gonna be farming this mess for 2 years. Why didn’t you just make it more than 75 skill points and make the farming less painful. It is SERIOUSLY horrendous.
Okay.
That’s my only complaint so far with SL. I love absolutely everything else, so far.
If the drop rate were even slightly better, I’d be able to take comfort in these kinds of notions. Like, my husband always says, “Well, the other ones were diseased or something, so you couldn’t use it.” That works when it’s a higher drop rate. I don’t need it to be 100%, but it’s absurd. I killed every living mob in sight for over an hour…simply to grind for cooking. That was my only goal, so that’s all I was doing. An hour. Got 9 pieces.
That’s too terrible to sustain farming this buff food for two years.
I do agree, I’d rather have a high amount to collect and a nearly 100% drop rate. Would feel better imo, and for the few that don’t, have them drop a ‘mangled liver’ or whatever to show that you tried to harvest it.
Here’s my take on that, fwiw, i think blizz remained in the mindset that multiboxers were going to remain the biggest problem facing US majority, the other 90% who do not multibox and didnt want them cornering the market on consumables and crafting items. Of course, if thats true, they still would have had an advantage where if in an hour you only got 9 pieces, they still would have gotten 45 so… i dunno… i think blizz secretly likes to see us suffer
Yep. Generally, as a person who loves WoW fishing, I’ve been able to keep my guild’s buff food tab full almost single-handedly. We would form farming parties periodically to go out and do the farming for feasts, etc. No problem.
This…is gonna be an issue. We can’t fish for all of it–only about half of them. The ones the require meat are going to be a nightmare for guilds that operate like mine does. We won’t be able to just leave particular chores for one or two guildies who like that kind of farming and sign up for it. It’ll have to be widespread donating.
and it’s just stupid. Time played does not equal money made. Player contentment = money made because content players stay subbed. Content players don’t leave at the end of every content patch and skip two pay cycles.
And making me farm a solid hour for three cooked food casts is not gonna make me want to log in.
It’s really disturbing for people who don’t believe you should waste animals that you kill but the whole game has always been like that. The worst was Wrath where you had to kill herds of mammoths and those Rhino things to get one piece of meat. And to add insult to injury you got to make fun of people in Wrath who were against hunting (granted they’re based on PETA, who are a little nutty, but still).
Cooking is just garbage. It doesn’t respect our time at all. To make 1 stack of feasts (20) takes 500 fish and 400 meat. All that to make one stack that can be burnt through in one night of progression raiding. Maybe if food effects persisted through death it might be worth it but right now it’s a disgusting waste of time.
i think the idea is that these are provided by the guild. if everyone throws in a stack of meat and a stack of fish, it’s not such a big deal. the goal is not for every raid member to bring their own stack of feasts every night.
