I believe this would ease the tension for war mode players is by expanding the safe zone a bit. The safe zone that surrounds Ve’nari’s Refuge needs to be expanded to at least where the portal is at. After that best of luck because at least you have two ways to go instead of just one which was only leaving Ve’nari’s quarters.
If you open your talents page you can see in the bottom right a magic button that will solve your problems. Its an alliance secret that we have been using for several expansions now.
They really have no choice because their choice of a safe zone was a bad design. In BFA they really didn’t have a safe zone unless you was in the Silithus area and that connected to the portal. Naz’jatar didn’t have a safe zone, but you had ways to escape from being farm to do questing. The Maw does not have that option and players are only limited to one way.
This is bad mapping on the developer’s end.
Sure, but their bad decision of a safe zone choice will still exist. Some players probably expected it to be like Silithus.
They did this on purpose. They sat down in a room, laid it all out, someone said “Hey, ya know what’s going to happen here?” and somewhere else the room there was either cackling, smirking, or just knowing nods saying “Yes, we know. Gold master, ship it.”.
I know they did this on purpose to have a good laugh. They have a sick sense of humor on stuff like this, but in the end for it to have only one way out is still a bad design. Compared to the last two expansions that had options to escape from being farmed without relying on turning off war mode. They can’t be defended on this one. Bad design is bad.
This is pretty much the only solution. The thing that makes no sense is that this issue was solved in BFA with the silithus sanctuary zone, which extended to the portal into the chamber.
Why they suddenly leave the portal not in a sanctuary zone has created the issue, its not a simple matter of “pvp happened”. Its not as if the portal regularly has pve enemies about it anyway, so making it part of the sanctuary zone may ruin the maw feel for the portal, but its necessary
Why are all the Maw WM threads coming from the horde?
I don’t pvp myself, but I was always under the impression that the horde was better at PVP and should easily be able to fend of the alliance’s control of these areas.
It’s great Idea. And I agree blizzard will not do it. they want us to hate that place. So it’s working as intended. I only go to the Maw to get to torghast and I just hearth out every time. And since Torghast is so unrewarding I will be stop running it soon. They don’t want us there so I will spend as little time there as possible. Which turns into playing less and less. Great Job Blizzard.
They’re kind of even, but with war mode benefits I do believe Alliance are between 20 - 30% bonus where horde stays at 10. Horde probably excels at pve more where Alliance has taken the pvp mantle considering players can switch factions nowadays.
Because there’s no incentive for a Horde counter raid like AOO, so it could take well over an hour if not longer to get a big enough group, and if someone does get one together Alliance is likely to just bail to the sanctuary anyhow. So mission accomplished I suppose but was it really worth it for how long it took.
But players still wanna fight each other, but not around the portal area. That alone should be an easy hotfix. The example is there so it’s not hard to decipher that.
eh, i hate responses like these and i don’t even play horde. i really don’t think a healthy game design philosophy for blizzard is to discourage players from accessing a feature because they have run into some issue that makes playing with it unpleasant or impossible
if they expand the safe zone and tweak sharding a bit to help even out the odds, surely that would facilitate more actual PVP rather than just ganking, and improve the WM experience for everyone? isn’t that preferable to everyone just shutting off WM?
Who said it was turning into a sanctuary? That would be the whole map and not a fragment small area of it. They did it BFA with the chamber area and going to the portal so they can do it here or why bother having it for Ve’nari’ camp at all. If you want to go with your logic then I suggest them to remove the safe zone for Ve’nari’s camp so it can be dangerous as you want it.

Going to the portal is all I am suggesting for a safe zone. Everything else is gank field for those players. You guys know what I am requesting, but you don’t want that. I believe you guys just wanna stay at the entrance until no one comes out like it’s some sort of faction control.
I must say Blizzard really failed on this one. Did it perfect in BFA, but failed to do it here.
