The MAW is more then just hell

Why do the souls of the Universe automatically go to the Maw?

I think the Maw used to be more then what it is now.

Who controlled the maw before the jailer?

Like all games, we only see a fraction of anything. The Maw is probably supposed to be millions of miles wide, but we see only a tiny spec.

Kinda like D3 Pandemonium and its eternal battlefield

Jailer pulled a realm into the maw and grew the maw around Oribos. I think it’s safe to say the maw is not a fully defined ‘thing’ but rather something everchanging.

Reminds of the Chaos Lords from Warhammer 40k where that hellish realm was ever evolving and inescapable

They say the paw controls the maw, but everyone knows maw runs the household.

The maw has pritty blue crystals and is rather home like. Somehow my picture of wow hell involved more office furniture.

Zovaal used to be the Arbiter so all souls would go through him. When she was knocked offline the souls went back to where they were supposed to go. His Covenant realm was likely broken and fragmented after it was pushed into the Maw. The only thing that was supposed to be there was the Tower.

Torgast was likely not as bad as it is now and was just endless halls for souls to wander until they finally ran out of Anima and became Stygia. Could also be they were just Dominated and locked away never to be worried about again. Letting creatures so evil or powerful just chill in the Maw would likely be a bad thing over time. Having them be Dominated then exploded and turned into Stygia makes sense.

If you keep asking then Blizzard will make the next expansion World of Warcraft: The Maw… and nothing else.

That’s another one for the list of ‘things that will make me drop WoW in an instant.’
