The Maw and Warmode

Let me start off by saying this is objective feedback on how the Maw doesn’t work with War mode on. Some edgy folks will obviously post “Turn off warmode.” and think they have done the forums a service. Those people can go fly a kite. There is a problem in the Maw that does not exist in any other zone.

The Maw is currently borderline unplayable with war mode on, at least as Horde. For the past three days, Alliance raid groups have been sitting outside the safe zone entrance, murdering anyone who tries to come through. After 3 days of trying to get out into the Maw, my only choice has been to turn war mode off. And then turn it back on when I am done in the Maw, because it feels pretty good everywhere else.

I am a huge fan of war mode. I had war mode on for 98.9% of BfA and I had fun leveling in Shadowlands with war mode. But the Maw is currently not somewhere that war mode should be active. The fact that it is a shared hub with a single entrance, getting blocked off by gank groups, to an entire endgame zone where players are punished for dying is beyond asinine, it is poor design.

The solution is to create Horde raid groups and WPVP to your hearts content… That is what warmode is for… Not for leveling bonuses.

If the alliance can form a group, why cant the horde form one to counter it?

I’m sure if I hard Warmode alliance on I could frolic through the maw with only the occasion honorable 1 on 1 bout to contend with

Working as intended.

Well I’m sorry you don’t like the obvious and incredibly easy to implement solution to your problem, but that’s how you solve it.

You said it

Why was this exposition necessary?

if you know warmode is problematic in the maw, turn it off

and, before you say it, pointing out the obvious doesn’t make me edgy.

That’s very exact.

I have yet to run into a single alliance in warmode outside of the maw. Guess they can’t pvp against us if it isn’t a raid vs 1. :+1:

The Maw situation is getting out of control. as everyone has said I just shut off WM after I get in there. but the fact that it is happening everytime I go in there means that there are probably several groups doing this. how are they able to stay in there when there is a debuff that goes active? and as much as its definitely part of the game its almost an exploit based on what the OP has said. whats worse is there is a phase shift right as you are leaving so everything looks fine and dandy and then you hit that phase point and all of a sudden all hell breaks loose. and they know where the point is and can see you approaching it.

blizzard’s terrible phasing aside, would it be an exploit to you if it were horde being organized with group pvp in the maw?

would you be thinking “Dang, that’s unfair” or would you be here laughing at the alliance upset that they can’t do the maw with WM on?

fwiw, I think blizz should change world pvp so you get no honor in raid groups, to stop this raid rolling through zones owning everything behavior.

but until that happens, I just turn warmode off when it’s going on. I know right? so edgy

irrelevant straw-man argument - they’re NOT forming a group and thus the OP’s argument is 100% valid. We’ve spent nearly four and a half days being unable to leave Ve’nari’s refuge because there are literally 60+ alliance camping the cave entrance non-stop around the clock. Acting like it’s fair for them to do so is insane. Acting like we should have to spent an hour forming a raid group to counter this behavior just so we can continue accessing the zone is equally insane.

This is not world pvp.
This is griefing.
It needs to stop.

It’s not edgy. It’s the advice we got for the last 2 years…so it’s the advice we’re giving you.

So am I. I leveled multiple toons in WM during BfA. I’m a huge supporter of WM because it leaves choice with the player, no matter how imbalanced the server group gets.

You mean like flight points or quest NPCs or entire questing hubs or raid entrances? Or…the entire island of Mechagon?

I never turned WM off. Not once. Until 8.2 dropped. It was literally unplayable. I could not move 10 yards.

So I turned it off.

I suggest you do the same.

Again, would you be saying the same thing if it were horde doing it?
were you making this argument at the start of BfA when horde murderballs rolled through zones steamrolling everything?

I doubt it

No, you’ve spent four days illogically refusing to use the obvious solution of turning warmode off.

Oh, we all know the answer to that one, and so do they.

Is you creating the thousandth post on this doing a service to the forums?

What exactly do you want Blizzard to do? Revamp Warmode because people can’t play nice in the maw? You said yourself you like Warmode outside of the Maw.

Do you know what’s going to happen if people continue to complain about this? Blizzard is going to disable WM in the Maw.

There is nothing else I see them doing. They will treat you like a child because that’s how players are acting.

So do yourself a favor and turn off WM in the Maw.

As an alliance player the entirety of BFA. This makes me laugh

Then don’t solo it. Maybe you don’t understand what World Pvp has always been. Its about screwing over other players with glee. If you want fair pvp, you do BG’s and arena.

If you can’t do the maw solo, then you need a group. There is always a counter as long as the faction sides are relatively balanced. But world pvp is not about fairness, your convenience, or getting anything actually done. If you want to just get the Maw done, don’t do warmode. There’s really nothing else to say on this.

Sounds like someone who wants the benefits of War mode but not the consequences. I’m not sure how the Maw is any different that any other daily quest hub. Just turn off War mode for this one thing, seems pretty easy to me.

Sounds like WPVP to me. I get why someone would get mad about it, but it’s soooo easy to fix. It’s not like you’re on a pvp server and can’t turn it off. And lets’ be honsest, pvp is almost always about griefing.
