Do you really expect every reported bug to be fixed immediately? It’s more complex than that. Bugs can take time to determine a cause and more time to find a working solution that doesn’t create more problems than it solves.
Do you hold the same opinion for vanilla? Because we all know that the bugs in that version that survived there have now been incorporated into this version and has impact on how we play the game.
If you want better communication, maybe we should first consider how well we communicate with them ourselves.
Edit: anyone remember this lovely gem from vanilla?
No, I’m aware. I was sad to see ghostcrawler go, same goes to the Yak. We weren’t given a replacement. Makes me wonder if they’ve decided to move away from that outlet.
His responses aren’t that different to Tseric’s. It supports my point that engaging with these forums on a professional level, breaks you down until you are left as bitter husk.
He moved over to LoL and is doing very well, from what I can remember.
You know that he was pleasant for years before that point. There’s only so much unnecessary hate that a person can take before crumbling.
This is the official legal document for the reduction in force that Blizzard experienced in February of 2019. There are two columns, the left column is number of positions selected for termination and the right column for positions not selected for termination; page 7 is the CS department. The only two positions cut from the CS department were a Bliz. IT Analyst and a Blizzard BI Programmer, zero actual CS.
“The following is a listing of the ages and job titles of employees who were and were not selected for termination of employment”
Maybe these threads would not exist in their quantity if Blizzard actually shared what they were doing and why. But hey, always a good sign when you tell your playerbase barely anything and give out a few blue posts here and there covering only some specific things every month or so.
No they wanted to integrate it into their Bnet structure, which the old client was not build for. So they went through all the trouble of re-engineering classic into their legion client. There have been numerous reports of issues with this method, starting fromt he beta that had items giving values that were never designed for this vanilla to countless other issues. And im not even blaming em that these problems exist. They ultimately have to because its such a huge game, but it also means you can not really rely on this client to be accurate and there is countless of examples on when its obviously not.
Maybe they fix it all by naxx, but then again who cares at this point. Game has reached its final content phase then and had pretty much the same validity as any given private server for its lifespan. The whole point of this was to get an actual version of vanilla and they did not deliver. Its their own version 15 years later that never could really decide wether it wanted to be a remake or a remaster of vanilla and in the end we got something inbetween.
It actually is not. Had Blizzard been more transparent on how server balance and populations turned out at the launch of classic, people could have adjusted. But they did not. Add to that layering, which absolutely showed players a wrong picture of what their servers actually looked like. It was not until they turned layering off and using census addons (which they went out of their way to dismantle btw) that we got a clear picture on how the servers looked. Its understandable that not everyone has the time or energy to just reroll then. And start fresh after investing weeks into their characters.
They might have been more inclined if they had seen in the first week that certain servers were in dire need of more people playing the opposite faction.
Combine that with free server transfers, that were not limited to either side and also gave no notion on who probably shouldnt leave or who should and you get a recipe for disaster.
Like sure players could have shown more restraint, but not calling this absolute mismanagment of their servers is an understatement. Especially after they have been told over and over again that they are underestimating their own launch. They released multiple servers on day 1 because the queues got so big on the few initial servers. Now we also have massive population servers that should not exist, as well as 1% and 99% balance servers. There is just no excuse.
This goes back to your reduced costs idea, which is entirely practical for any business to do. I would rather Classic implemented this way than not at all.
I doubt that everything will be resolved by Naxx. I care by the way. I’ll still be clearing Naxx and PVPing while playing TBC, assuming either version becomes a copy of the other.
No private server was anywhere close to perfect.
They have delivered and I’m grateful for it. Why do you put so much of your time into something that you clearly despise? You are supporting them every month that you continue paying.
The complaints that you target are perfectly valid, I can’t agree with your negative attitude.
Edit: It’s not right for me to assume that you despise the game, obviously you have invested passion. Maybe even friends you enjoy playing with.
Of course they were not but you do not expect it from a private server with a limited team of devs. It were passion projects trying to recreate what we had in 2006. I do not expect them to be like the real thing. Blizzard announcing classic on the other hand: I expect it to be the version I played 15 years ago. And they just did not deliver on that.
Well complaints usually have a negative connotation to them no? Im not giving feedback here. They do not care anyway, they already got what they wanted out of classic.
And the only reason I am “supporting” them is because there is no alternative anymore. Atleast the Pserver community had multiple options but now its mostly just gimmick servers I have no interest in playing. So its either: quitting on all my friends and leave the game behind or keep playing this version of WoW.
Its just insane how they were unable to just give us the game from 2006, promising things in interviews and obviously not adhering to said promises at all, while altering the game completely. And yet you are still here defending it, I can not really understand anyone doing that.
