The main reason you’re upset with BFA

You’re not fulfilled with your decisions in game. The loot you are getting is barely an upgrade. Your loot is also personalized. I don’t think people realize that an MMORPG is supposed to make you feel rewarded for your time spent in game. Loot boxes that randomly decide what you get? Even if it’s a duplicate? Well that sucks spin the wheel again!

WotLK was the last expansion that proved that with an overwhelming 12m subscribers during their peak. The developers who made Vanilla, TBC, and WotLK knew exactly what needed to be put in game to make an enjoyable and playable MMORPG.

Today’s developers working on BFA are mostly new aged and their philosophy differs from those who came before them. Developers are just creative minds hoping to make a lasting impression with their product and unfortunately BFA is very far from an enjoyable MMORPG and I’m surprised it’s still classified as such considering you can play the entire game without having to speak to anyone.

I can go further if anyone wants to play devils advocate.

TLDR: Time’s have changed, old developers are no longer the active minds contributing to making this game and new developers don’t know what goes into making an MMORPG.

Azerite traits. That’s about it really.

Other than that, the other problems i had are getting fixed

If they don’t know why people are upset by BFA by now, then they never will.

Do you have no real way of differentiating which azerite gear is better due to just traits or them not having actual stats? Seems like everything is just being trivialized with average item level to make it more simple.

I really thought you had insights into my mind.

All WoW minds are collective. I said that in an Algalon voice. :joy:

The azerite system would not have been this messy if they had not gone overboard and released dozens of combinations for each spec. Mix in bad tuning and no one knows what to use anymore.
I personally would have loved the system if the azerite traits were extracted from the pieces and imbued into the necklace, giving you the option to just choose whatever traits you wanted after collecting it. A bit like a zelda game where you progressively unlock more powers and options. The traits could then scale off the necklace ilvl making it a meaningful source of progression instead of 2 haste, crit, verse.

I can agree with some of this. The developers of the old Blizzard/Activision are gone. It’s apparent with the quality of BFA and the state it was released in. What we can do is hope that we see improvement in 8.1 and the following patches. I hear the next raid is actually very well put together. We need class changes desperately. People are tired of the empty feeling of class design. We need more gear vendors, and for them to remain useful for the entirety of the expansion. We need nerfs to some of the affixes in M+. We need more Old God content (lol so good). Overall I’m content with BFA but that’s not good enough when it’s coming from a company of Blizzard’s caliber. This isn’t being entitled - this is me trying to make it known that when a gaming company prioritizes shareholders’ interests over producing a gripping gaming experience, this is what happens.

Only thing that bothers me with BFA is the boring neck that doesn’t show any sense of progression while the artifacts always showed they got powerful. Other than that I still enjoy it.

It definitely seems confusing to know which is best when you have 3-4 traits slapped on 1piece with 3 pieces total for about 9-12 total traits seems absolutely unrealistic to expect people to wonder what the best combination would even be to be the best player you can be.

ML vs PL thing personally, but otherwise… I’m actually having a decent amount of fun with it. Then again I’m rather easy to please.

They’ve definitely taken a few steps in the wrong direction. Blizzard went from being a Gucci product to a Coogi product. :joy:

Forced Personal loot is basically the only thing I strongly dislike, there are plenty of other issues but none of them are as frustrating as the removal of Master Loot.

I’m disappointed that I paid $50 for a gutted extension of Legion.

I don’t exactly know what that means but I think I agree.

With the botched release of BFA they certainly took several steps backwards. But we can’t discount their attempts to spin it around. I’m simple - if I see vendors being implemented, I gain hope.

Agreed. Personal loot and the removal of master loot are ruining some aspects of this game. Some of them being extremely important.

I don’t like the necklace system at all.

Haha Gucci can be seen as a high end product while the counterpart is not as high quality but okay in the sense that it fulfills it’s purpose.

Because the entire expansion is focused around making you play longer and not on making the game fun to play.

I think that was only a byproduct of them being rushed. I don’t know if they intentionally released it in the current state because they wanted to or just didn’t care.

There are strings being pulled behind the curtains that most people don’t seem to see. If it’s not apparent that retail WoW is a cash cow, I don’t know what is.
