The core of the game has not changed much, I agree. The type of change you seem to be thinking about would be if WoW turned into a FPS or RTS style game.
Didn’t mean to suggest that it was.
Read this, slowly.
Jesus, you just like arguing with me don’t you lol.
The core of the game has never actually changed.
You’re on the same ride you were on in Vanilla as you are in Bfa, just different speeds.
You still level.
You still grind.
You still dungeon.
You still raid.
You still pvp.
The only thing that has changed is the speed of everything, but the core concepts have not changed.
WQ are quests for loot, guess what, you’ve been doing quests for loot since launch.
Right. Outside of classes a lot of the game has changed. Mission tables and pet battles for example…
No, but people act like BFA and Classic are two completely different things, but being that I played Vanilla and Bfa, they really aren’t different games.
Same game, just a different pace.
Classic is slower, more methodical, Bfa is instant gratification.
You’re doing the same types of content in both games, the only difference is time.
And I also agree lol. This hasn’t changed. So the real basics of the game have not changed.
Lol I can’t tell if you’re trolling or you’re just a pathetic white knight for this company
I’m not really interested in arguing with you. Just that what seems clear to the rest of us is your unwillingness to accept the game and in fact the gameplay has changed.
In 08’ you leveled, got your flight through gold purchase and then spent the next 2 years doing whatever you wanted to do in the game unrestricted by dailies.
In 20’ you level and then grind dailies/WQ till the cows come home. Some weeks later you can then walk away from them to do dungeons and/or raids but make no mistake you pay the piper. Your game is now WQ +X whereas before it was X.
So let’s not play stupid anymore, ok?
You’re missing the point entirely, let’s not play stupid anymore okay.
In 08, you leveled and paid for flying, cool!
In 20, you level and work for it, cool!
Either way you get flying, the only difference is time.
If you had the gold in 08, you bought it then and moved on.
In 20, you need to put in actual work for it.
That isn’t a change in how the core of the game functions, like you get that right?
You’ve narrowed my point to that stickler issue that you can’t wrap your head around and seems to pain you so badly.
In 08 and 20, you got flying when the developers decided you were ready for it, end of story. Because it takes longer does not mean that the gameplay has actually changed, just the requirements for unlocking.
Like, please tell me you understand this basic concept because I’m starting to think you’re the best troll on these forums or wondering if I should be concerned for your sanity.
It IS a change in gameplay. Let’s not play weasel words. We are talking gameplay here per your own quote.
Either the gameplay changed or it didn’t. Your assertion that gameplay today is the same as 08’ is just wrong.
It isn’t, you’re playing the game the same way you did in 2008 lol.
Just because you paid gold to unlock flying doesn’t mean you played the game any differently lol. You just got flying faster, which, as I said, is time related.
Like, you get this right? Please, let’s not play stupid now okay.
Lordy lew…
Pray tell us how these two forms of gameplay are the same thing.
- 08’ level > buy flight with gold > X for the next 2 years.
- 20’ level > rep grind > achievement > X > rep grind > achievement > flight > X > essence grind > corruption grind > X.
I think you are intentionally ignoring my point now.
You are literally playing the game the same way you did in 2008.
The gameplay has not actually changed.
You are discussing unlocking flying, not gameplay lol.
More specifically, you’re discussing the how to unlock which again, doesn’t actually deal with changes in gameplay, only in changing reqs for unlocking, by you know, playing the game.
Either way, you’re out of time.
I really hope you can detach yourself from the emotional turmoil of pathfinder because this so obviously bothers you.
Maybe consider taking a step back and re-evaluating some things, I find it helpful at times.
Meanwhile, I have a game to play.
You know, the one with the same gameplay as the last 15 years, only faster and more RNG. Same dungeon style. Same combat style. Same raid style.
Really makes you question why we bother.
I’m over it. Have a good one.
Okay well then you go make a Classic character and have fun grinding for weeks, less systems more time walking, have fun.
“time walking”
In 2008? I remember a very different game than you. There were attunements, long quest lines, rep grinds, and difficult dungeon runs before even THINKING about getting into a raid.
I didn’t even see the inside of Kara until after they removed the attunements, and you still needed the key to open the door.
keep shouting into the void
At least it’s not costing us 250 million to do it. See Voyager 2 lol
Fear not, I have returned! Now how does that work again
/e fumbles inside a hat for a rabbit
Well give it back. The game isn’t the same without it ![]()
On a serious note, I really wasn’t expecting such a response to my post. I mostly wanted to just vent my frustrations, and pretty much expected the post to get buried.
Woke up to 100+ replies and was kind of shocked.
Thanks for the kind words guys. I think I’m just gonna take a break for a while. I may come back for shadowlands, or maybe not. Right now I think I just need some time off. I shouldn’t be this frustrated playing a game that’s supposed to be fun, and make me happy. So it’s time to take a break
