Two guild members today got this quest from Ysera, to rescue 3 souls from the maw. We did this (marked complete and ready for turn in) but ysera would not complete the quest and offered no additional instruction. Looking on wowhead there were others with the same problem. One solution offered was to drop and redo. When we did this Ysera no longer offers the quest.
This quest seemed to be tied to renown or was simply random as it appeared 12/26 for the first time for us.
Anyone have a fix for this or know if this is important to any quest line?

I am having the same issue. I have the souls collected but can’t turn it in anywhere.
Same problem here - completed the quest in a party with a friend, says 3/3 souls collected but cannot turn it in to Ysera.
Oops had the wrong character selected, this is the one I can’t turn it in on
My friend and I both did this quest today and neither of us are able to turn it in.
Another thing to note, the quest was not available to me until I accepted today’s calling to collect anima in Torghast.
From what I’ve figured out, this quest, and its follow-up quest, are linked to the calling that sends you into Torghast. If the calling is in your active quest list, then you can take and turn in the Ysera quests. But if you turn in the calling quest, the Ysera quests disable, and you can’t accept or turn them in, and you’ll be ineligible even if someone tries to share them.
Not the most intuitive way to set up questing. I can’t think of another time Blizzard did something like this - I’m inclined to think it’s a bug.
The Lost of Teldrassil quest where you have to collect 3 lost souls in the Maw. Last night I collected all three and came back to turn it in to Ysera but she will not interact with me to complete the quest.
Apparently this is bugged according to other players’ notes on WowHead. I REFUSE TO ABANDON IT…my guild mate did this and could NOT pick it back up again. So he lost it.
This is the worst quest design ever. There should never be a block on turning in a quest you honestly completed according to the quest directives.
My partner and I have both completed this quest once, abandoned it and collected the souls again but are still unable to turn it in. From what I can tell this is just a two quest story line - with the second being From a Dark Place. So it seems like other than the time expended and not getting the 46 gold for the pair of them it isn’t a big loss. Satisfying to bring some peace to the souls of Teldrassil lost in the Maw but disappointing nonetheless
I’d like to bump this topic. The quest objective as it is written is misleading and confusing. When you talk to the souls in a group, you can get credit for 3 souls without talking to each individual soul. The quest “completes” but then you cannot turn it in.
Please fix the objective text to read that you must talk to each named soul to complete the quest.
I am having a bit of a different issue with this quest. I collected 2/3 but there isnt a 3rd to get. I have had this quest for almost a week now and I check it everyday to see if there is a 3rd I can talk to but there isnt. Any suggestions?
Having the same issue on my Shaman. Did this quest with my hubby and we are not able to turn it in. Submitted a ticket and have my fingers crossed to see if they have a solution. Here’s to hoping!
EDIT:: Hubby and I went back out to the area and were able to talk to additional souls and completed the objective that way and were able to turn it in to Ysera that way. So even if it completes on the side objects, continue to talk to souls until you have talked to 3 or can no longer find anymore.
I have kept this quest for a few days, now. I tried logging out and back in, and even exiting the game. Today, I got fed up enough to just abandon it. I figured it was an unrequired weekly. I had read on here that some can’t get the quest again after abandoning, but I didn’t care. However, when I abandoned it, the quest popped up over Ysera again. I thought, “Oh, maybe they fixed it, and I just have to redo it.” I did, and the same problem occurred. On the map and mini-map, the turn in is inside the Heart of the Forest, but there is no one with a question mark above their head. You’d figure you’d be turning it in to Ysera, who gave you the quest in the first place, and she’s standing outside, which initially had me confused. I even tried talking to her just in case, but no luck.
As of yet this quest STILL hasn’t been fixed! I literally picked it up last night before bed. Decided to do it when I got home from work, and now Ysera isn’t there so I can turn it in… The ? is there on the mini map but she’s not?? WTF…
