So I found something that might be really interesting.
It’s relating to Valeera. There’s a quest for an artifact called “The Raven’s Eye” in Stormheim.
Quest details are as follows:
Our divesionary tactics in Stormheim uncovered intel on something I thought only a myth. There is a legend about a magical jewel the Vrykul created long before the time of man. The jewel was said to be able to … I don’t want to talk about it just yet. Not until we have proof. Unfortunately, the only way we are going to get that proof is in the Maw of Souls on the Naglfar… the ship of the dead.
Completion:
The legend was true! I was right about my suspicions. I had heard about Ravencrests almost perfect espionage team during the War of the Ancients.
Kul’latos Ravencrest Ravencrest once came across two ravens, Huginn and Muninn who had a jewel called The Raven’s Eye that let them read and understand any language. He tricked them into giving it to him in exchange for a piece of candy. Enraged, the ravens would henceforth express their displeasure in the presence of any night elf. <WoWpedia
it’s just a strange detail that not only does Ravencrest have a tie to Odyn, his artifact, the Raven’s Eye, an artifact with the power to read any language was found in the Maw of Souls?
This to me sounds like the closest thing to a plot thread that we will probably get to answering this whisper before the story hits us over the head with the answer.
I don’t think Ravencrest is the “Lord of Ravens” I think this is doing more to set up Odyn as the Lord of Ravens.

Everybody assumed it was Medivh, but given Odyn’s inclusion in 9.1, it seems more likely that it’ll be him if that particular prophecy is meant to come to fruition in Shadowlands.
And if it does, it seems to imply Odyn will muck something up. Color me wholly unsurprised.

On the other hand:
- Karazhan’s nexus of power was created due to a Dreadlord scythe (Ulthalesh)
- Medivh gave possibly shadowland esque statements in the Legion dungeon
- Dreadlords were after the Book of Medivh
- One of the new Torghast wings sounds suspiciously similar to Karazhan’s basement (Forgotten Catacombs vs Forgotten Crypt and Karazhan Catacombs)
- The aesthetics of the Room of Upside-Down Sinners strongly resembles the fact Maw cages hang upward
If the top of Karazhan connects to the Twisting Nether/Great Dark Beyond, then perhaps the bottom of Karazhan connects to the Shadowlands and the Maw.

I thought it was Medivh too, and it still could be, Odyn and Ravencrest are both in the running as well.
But you are right, Odyn seems like the front runner.
But Medivh did say “in order to break the bonds of fate, we must be willing to step into the unknown.” That to me seemed like a signal hint to Shadowlands and piercing the veil.
Another posibility is the lord of the nine ravens, the lord of the nine Valkyrs.
I have been thinking Odyn is the lord of ravens who will turn the key for a while. Along side all the reasons people have listed, I remember having to deal with him as a thing a lot because he had a raven themed item I wanted. The little Artifact Relic or what ever.
Odyn is definitely the sort who would turn some sort of key to start up a bloody party. I would say Ravencrest is in the running… by he doesn’t seem all that cosmic or power hungry.
However! :
Ravencrest had a super secret and skilled spy squad.
Draka may be the key to many things.
The Lord of Ravens will turn the key.
Maybe Ravencrest will get Draka to join his spy squad. Or maybe Odyn will turn Draka into some sort of Valkyr thing and get every one mad.

I originally thought that Draka was the “key” because they refer to her as “the Key” many times, but then the Primus’s sigil and “key” ends up not involving Draka at all in any way, shape, or form. Well that’s strange…so what is Draka “the key to many things” of?
The “Lord of Ravens turns the Key” I originally thought after the Anduin stabs the Archon cinematic to mean that Sylvanas (the lord of 9 black-winged creatures, the Ravens that take flight) would “turn” or convince the “Key” Draka in this case to turn over the Primus’s “key” or “sigil”
But that doesn’t happen on the PTR.
So the Lord of Ravens turns the Key…Odyn is the most literal Lord of Ravens, and he is showing up in 9.1…so what does it mean for him to “turn the key”???
No idea.

There’s also that Illgynoth whisper about Nine ravens all viying for thier mistresses attention…
Nine ravens, Nine Val’kyr which you would think is about Sylvanas but again “Lord” is a man’s Title, I doubt Sylvanas would be the Lord of Ravens but again it all points back to Odyn because he created Helya and Helya leads the Mawsworn/The Nine.
The she who the Nine Ravens whisper is referring to could not be Sylvanas, but could be Helya.
Another facet that interests me is, Odyn got Hunnin and Munnin through a deal with the Jailer. They are originally from Dreanor, and were followers of Anzu. Anzu has a connection to the Jailer, the Void, and Odyn too.
A network of connections is forming here, and all paths lead to Odyn.
Ugh. Now I know why the Void causes madness if this little hints that could point to at least three different people are the extent of their ability to see the future. It would make me paranoid, at least, if I tried to chase down all these little clues and hints and thought not just my life but the very nature of existence might depend on it.
I’m on team ‘It’s probably Odyn and he’s probably going to screw something up.’

If you go that way Sylvanas is the mistress but the true master of the Valkyrs is the lord of ravens. Arthas and the Jailer are possible candidates. Arthas is the more interesting option.
I don’t think Arthas has anything to do with it. Sorry.
