The levelling right now is EXTREMELY enjoyable

Not having to worry about running out of quests

Not having to worry about grinding (maybe if you are a Warrior or other melee characters you might want to grind a little to stay ahead of the mobs but on my Hunter it is totally unnecessary)

I am using a levelling guide but I’m just going quest to quest only doing what I need to do for the quest then move on to the next (I’ve even skipped a few quests that I don’t like) and as I said it is extremely enjoyable. If there is ever another SoM if the levelling is in any way slower than what it is right now I’m not going to even bother with it (I do think SoM is a really good idea)

Right now I am content in levelling my Hunter and excited for Wrath!

retail trolls these days man

Still a hard pass. If they buffed exp rates to where I could level a toon from 1-80 in an hour via mob grinding or turning in 5 quests I still wouldn’t play it. Just put in dungeon finder and call it a day, and take my money.

I don’t play retail at all and I concur that leveling right now is pretty comfy. Just fast enough to keep me motivated consistently.

tbc questing is just bad

In what way? TBC questing seems the most streamlined experience. Or is that what you don’t like? That it is too easy with too many quests?

tbc content has been basically untouched since it came out
over many years… been there, done that, many many many many times
cant stomach it anymore

  • with classic you and even wotlk you can have a few different routes
    tbc not really

Sure, not a lot of variety (you can, but very limited), but compared to Classic quest design TBC is objectively a smoother experience. Classic has some really god awful design to it in certain areas. Sometimes you have to pick apart zones, go to another, and then come back in a few levels. TBC is a lot smoother hub to hub experience.

Personally I just enjoy gearing a character up enough through the leveling experience, most leveling content has never been overly difficult, just a time consuming process, so repeating the content has never been an issue for me. I think at this point I’ve done a solid 95% of the leveling content so none of it is fresh anymore so it’s a pick your poison kind of deal.

Agreed it’s pretty good, especially with people around. Granted I just started again with a toon on Grobb. There are a lot of people around and tons of lowbie dungeons looking for DPS and whatever else. Maybe not long-lasting but good for a dry stretch of the game.

I’ve got to agree though with the TBC leveling thing. I releveled the character I post on and 1-60 was smooth and then I got to Outlands and it was for me like “this again…”. I know some people love Outlands but for me, it was the same every time I hit this point with Retail leveling too before the Chromie thing. I’d slog through the TBC content then get to Wrath and be back into it.

I fully agree. I’m leveling 3 alts rn and finding groups and small scale lowbie WPvP has never been easier since p1 classic era. It feels like a true classic experience. Also made a few friends leveling together and we’ve been grouping for dungeons every night tryna get our alts into out lands

I’m parking my rogue at 60 to wait till pre patch. Flying and XP squish along with the 50% exp buff will make it doable but I agree, I don’t want to do Outlands questing on a ground mount. It’s awful.

dont remember any changes on flying

Should have been 75%

Its been nice, but now I get a weird irrational anxiety when I realize I skipped entire zones of solid questing.

e.g. my priest hit 58 yesterday and took the portal to outlands despite skipping azshara, felwood, winterspring, ungoro, silithus, blasted lands, burning steppes, and searing gorge. It made me constantly feel like I forgot something.

in 3.1 or 3.2, they made flying learnable at 60. So the 3.3.5 patch we have will have that change as well. And default flying goes from 60% speed to 150% speed, so its faster than a ground mount as well.

Yeah, it would be nice to have this as a permanent buff for 1-70.

Maybe classic isnt for you bro.

Just saying.

This is the easiest its been to find groups since vanilla for sure.

I’ve been having a blast leveling a drood. Never had a buff class before so you better believe anyone I see is getting a buff and heals.

Definitely the most fun I’ve had leveling a character in a while; could also be that I’m leveling my first alliance toon ever 1-70. took a break from classic TBC when P2 started and when I came back all of my friends had swapped to alliance on another server, thankfully I still had my TBC boost so I boosted my main and already leveled to 70 on it, now just enjoying some alliance quests line on my NElf hunter.
As someone said earlier, I go just fast enough that it keeps me engaged in the process and I can skip fighting most stuff so that I only need to kill just what’s necessary and move on.
