The League of Explorers

Genocide deniers I call them. The entire stonespire tribe in vanilla was wiped out until 3 members were left.

In WotLK we team up with them for the first time in Ulduar.
In Uldum, Horde players somehow fight against their own archeology trainer because they team up with Harrison Jones (???)
In WoD apparently the same garbage, Harrison Jokes appears in our garrison, while at the same time he assist in helping the Alliance reclaim an artifact from Ashran (the absolute state of the storyline lmao)

Countless times has the Horde assisted these fine gentlemen. Even though their associates did murder and pillage and genocide their way to get to their excavacations.

Let’s not forget that the damage they have caused in Mulgore with their digging was seen years later when the Cataclysm came and the elementals present there got upset and had to be calmed down.

Another whitewashing of an Alliance group. You’re not going to tell me they’re neutral. They aren’t. Horde are just the sidekicks to the story when it fits and the rest of the time they’re playing the bad guys. A prime example on how the story in general treats Horde players.

We need justice for Gann Stonespire and his tribe. For too long have the League of Explorers denied their little genocide against this tribe.

As bombastic are your posts tend to be, you’re essentially right. It’s obvious that someone at Blizzard really loves their Indiana Jones reference characters and wants to shoehorn them in wherever possible, which creates constant dissonance with all of the various alliance-aligned activities the group gets up to.

Very well said. However that milksop Baine would rather suck up to them. Even now, as he recovers from Torghast, he works at a deal that would have one of their ugly Bunkers plopped down into Mulgore and our ancestral lands ransacked. Perhaps to seal the pact Baine will send a piece of his horn to them.

All of Bael Modan was destroyed. If you consider what happened to the Stonespire genocide, the a genocidal event was in turn unleashed on the dwarves of Bael Modan. And in the end both side up dead and with no one actually getting back the land.

What was white washed, exactly? Was the Stonespire massacre somehow… retconned or something? Is there some new lore where the Dwarves gave them assorted baskets of fruit and the Stonespire Tauren choked to death on the seeds, and I missed it?

Who would? The Explorer’s League is an organization founded in, based in, and led by a Prince of, Ironforge. Of course they’re not neutral! They’re Alliance. Which is to say when Blizzard gets lazy and needs to tell one story for both factions, they’re suddenly made neutral because we just can’t let the Horde’s equivalent, the Reliquary, get any kind of decent screen time or development, now can we?

Honestly, OP hasn’t said anything new. I hereby give him the forum title of, ‘Captain Obvious.’

The league of explorers never having to answer to their crimes and the Horde PC and faction suddenly having to team up with them numerous times implies that their actions aren’t recognized.

Quite simple isn’t it? Or are you going on a long drawn argument where their actions are justified and that Horde players should just suck it up because you don’t see an issue with it?

And yes, them getting their actions ignored while they’re allowed storyline advancement kind of implies that their actions were whitewashed out of existance.

So you basically agree but still have to leave condenscending and snarky remarks?

I don’t think you know what white washing is.

Ogrim Doomhammer fighting Lothar one-on-one and emerging victorious, rather than having him ambushed and killed on his way to a parley is an example of whitewashing. It makes a cowardly, dishonorable act no longer canon in order to make the guilty party seem better by re-writing events to present them more favorably.

The fact that the Explorer’s League has not faced any consequences for the Stonespire Massacre does not mean they were whitewashed. All it means is they faced no consequences yet unless one counts the fact that Bael Modan was completely destroyed during Cataclysm questing, with virtually all the dwarves inside being killed in the process. In which case… I guess there were consequences.

Or do you want to try and make people believe there needs to be more consequences than the decimation of the people behind the massacre to begin with?

I’ll reiterate my broad-spectrum opinion for you.

Blizzard either needs to commit to Factions being important to this game (meaning they need to be relevant outside of faction conflict expansions as well), or they need to drop the faction barrier and system already.

The Reliquary should be there for the Horde player’s questing experience every time the Horde player needs to do something involving a group like the Explorer’s League. Full stop. Horde players shouldn’t have to be helping Tyrande/Shandris in Ardenweald, they should be helping Vol’jin and Rastakan and Bwonsamdi. Its time to stop flip-flopping Alliance characters to neutral to provide the Horde with the same content when they’ve got their own characters perfectly set up for the same exact content.

But if you want a snarky comment for me to finish off this post on, that’s fine.

“All hail Soymonmilk, Captain Obvious of the Story Forums! Long may he be flamed!”

The heads of the explorer league and the hanging of any collaboraters like Baine would be enough recompense.

As soon as the heads of everyone who joined Sylvanas/Garrosh is mounted on Stormwind’s wall. I can make unreasonable demands as well.

We do not turn over or execute innocents.

Funny way to describe people who joined in a genocide.

The burning of that hideous weed?

Still looks better then the mountains Bael Modan was built on.

Ah, this must be Soymonmilk/Erevien’s other alt. Actually leveled it a bit too, I’m impressed.

I think they’re both Erevien.

If that’s how you want to gatekeep Horde posters be my guest lmao

Grouping people into Horde posters and Alliance posters is dumb. If all it takes for me to get shiny Likes on this forum is to change my avatar to a Horde race and say a few repetitive talking points then I think a lot of people on here need to take a break.

Is it silly that I focus on this with my posts? I’m not going to pretend I’m successful at it, but whenever I try to post something that I think sounds neutral in nature, and see myself get mostly red likes anyway, I start second-guessing my post and rereading it because I feel like I ended up sounding partisan anyway.

We all have our biases, there’s no getting around that, but in order to speak constructively about the story instead of falling to finger pointing rage and troll posts, being aware of them and trying to be objective is for sure a good thing. To do otherwise is to let the writers continue to get away with their writing style.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a post of yours that is particularly abrasive or partisan, to be honest, so you’re doing a good job with it in my opinion.

Nah. As Stonehead would say, you’re a good bud. Bestest bud, actually.
