Just watched this for the first time with my brother. One of the best films I’ve ever seen. I never cry and this film made my eyes watery.

Yeah, this is a damn good movie. Tom Cruise rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to films. Been so long since Ive seen it. I need to dust off my blu-ray copy and give it another watch.
Really liked this movie. Cruise did a good job. Wish they did more historical-ish movies like this, but i guess they’re too big-budget, especially in these times.

Hiroyuki Sanada is in that movie. Same actor who plays Scorpion Mortal Kombat.
I think it was distasteful the “last samurai” was a gaijin. Cultural appropriation. Arrogant. Anyways it was still kickass.

It could be referring to Katsumoto as being the last samurai, since that was a political and honorific title given to nobility and not just “a title” given to whoever asked for it.
