The Lariat

So how exactly does it work? Which stats does it proc and I have one with vers crit and it procs crit. So I am curios does it only proc that secondary stat of your gem?

Lariat will proc the lesser stat of any gem you have socketed.
So you are correct that if you have a vers heavy/ crit light gem, it will always proc crit.

Also, lariat is not locked to just its own sockets, it can proc off of any socket you have, like if you have a socketed belt etc.

Each secondary stat gem has an element tied to it, which will result in the follow stats from the proc

Fire = Crit
Earth = Mastery
Air = Haste
Frost = Vers

Came for the Yellowstone short story, left with cereal ptsd.

Modern day Lucky Charms are THE best. Those marshmallows are from space.

Not to derail the cereal chat, but how come every item that has a slot in my gear has frost gems and I get procs for vers, haste, mastery, and crit at random?

As someone else mentioned, each gem has an element associated with it.
The lariat randomly will give you a short buff that is associated with any element attached to any gems you are currently wearing (not just in the lariat).

There are generally two ways to approach this – You can intentionally use multiple different gem elements for a shot at having multiple different buffs at the same time, or you can stack all the same gem type to have the lariat keep one specific buff up more often.

All in all you’ll see it has a 25-35% uptime for a single element. If you have multiple elements equipped you will get separate buffs for each element, and if you add them up, it’s generally somewhere between 25-35% uptime. It’s mostly a question of consistency vs getting lucky and having multiple buffs at the same time.

I personally like having greater uptime on a single buff, but a lot of people prefer to try and run different gem types.

Do you also have an Icon?

That was actually removed like week 2? Of the xpac if I recall correctly

You can only have 1 buff from the neck up at a time, unless it bugged again

I do not have Icon. And I have the Primary+Crit gem in one slot and every other slot on all gear is Frost gems. I get all four buffs at random. Im not sure why.

Hrm, I’ve always run it with just one gem type – didn’t know they removed the ability for them to proc at the same time. If they did actually remove it, then there really isn’t any reason to have multiple gem types imo.
