I put in a bot report for every bot I see, and on Whitemane that’s a lot of them. I think more of the population is bots than humans by a significant margin.
And yet, I see those same bots keeping pace with my leveling. Hanging out running in a circle killing stuff mindlessly for days on end.
The utter lack of enforcement is disheartening. I know for a fact these bots have been reported because I did it myself, but they continue to keep farming along.
Blizz needs to hire a bunch more people to check up on tickets because the job is not getting done.

If you guys have that big a problem with bots and want it fixed then make as much noise about the bots as you guys did about the layers getting added back on. That will fix it.

Hell they need real mods to be in the server and not have call centers type people larping as GM’s from a 3rd world country.

As a multiboxer I have the advantage of reporting every bot I encounter 5x. I consider it my moral obligation to provide this service to the community.

“It’s ok for me to cheat but not those other guys.”

One is breaking the rules, the other isn’t. Blizzard likes both though, more money.
The lack of response in all aspects of the game is disheartening.

Getting them to re-enable layering after they disabled it for no reason after screwing up Whitemane was like pulling teeth, too.
Multiboxing isn’t cheating.
They basically only did it because of 4 hour + queues. The situation was so far out of whack that it became absolutely silly. They should do the same even when the queues are 1/2 an hour. People should be able to play the game when they want to play the game.
If that’s your philosophy, then neither is botting. You have to pick a side and stick with it.

I hate multi-boxers, but I’ll make an exception for you.

Nope. This is simply incorrect. Botting is automating command inputs. Multiboxing is broadcasting command inputs. Blizzard disallows botting and says that multiboxing is perfectly fine as long as it doesn’t involve automation.
No, I don’t have to obey your false dichotomy.
I didn’t say they were the same thing. I said they’re both cheating, and they are. The fact that Blizzard allows one but not the other is hypocritical, which seems to be the stance you’re fine to adopt. But that’s your choice. Ride the hypocrite fence all the way to Blizzard’s bank if it suits you. Just know that you are no better than the folks you’re reporting.

But they’re not, because one of them is allowed.
Disallowing automation but allowing broadcasting is not hypocritical.
The fact that I report them in the first places already makes me better.
Except that you aren’t any better, as pointed out by my original post. I’d actually argue that you’re worse, but I’ll keep my opinions to myself and stop responding to your drivel.

Simply saying it doesn’t make it true, bud.
Uh-huh, sure thing bud.
Stay mad.
I think Drain is making a moral comment rather than one based on facts. It’s like a situation we have here in Australia - people (usually Chinese) swarm supermarkets and buy up all our locally produced canned baby food and send it back to China where it is sold for like 2 or 3 times the local price (our product is seen as safe whereas Chinese baby food has caused deaths). It isn’t illegal to do that, but it causes all kinds of issues with mothers trying to find food for babies who can’t take milk. So morally it’s nasty, factually it isn’t illegal.
Multiboxing occasionally interferes with me on retail because multiboxers farm the herb in Nazjatar which is a bit like Black Lotus - important for high end flasks and only available in one zone. Some of them appear to be bots, some are simply mub players taking advantage of retail’s multi-tap nodes. In Classic I don’t seem them frequently because my Classic toons are still low level.
So while I’m not wild about mubs I get the frustration that is caused by the bad mubs, not by those who just like having more than one character going at the same time.
He’s free to have an opinion, and I’m free to point out where I think it’s wrong.
I’m tired of multiboxers being lumped in with botters. We’re not even in the same ballpark.
A number of bots are multiboxing though, that’s why.
