The key to getting good loot is not concerning yourself with parses

I only did about 5/6 lockouts of bfd since launch. Maybe more, dunno. But i havnt done one since last year. Got epic staff on my 3rd raid.

I believe i am being rewarded for never having cared about parsing or parse culture in general. I have a conspiracy that your rolls on loot are higher the lower you parse on warcraft logs. A negative coefficient.

Parsing is the worst thing to happen to the game imo. Im grateful that i play with people who recognize that its a hobby and personal achievement and not a determination of whether you get to raid or not. So many people oit there treat it as the only determining factor of whether you are gifted the privilage of raiding with them, o high and mighty 99 parsers.

Try it out. Show up to a raid, and just do the mechanics and do your dps rotation. Go pew pew :). Green parse? Grey parse? Great. Higher rolls on loot!

It’s true. The worst player in our raiding core got the epic staff first.

while i think parsing is pretty dumb, i assure your the random number generator at the center of all this does not care. and we do not need more superstition

Whatever you believe, it’s all superstition, RNG doesn’t care about any of that. But hey, if you really believe, why not play lottery and come back to us with results?

You might be the one who is crying for end game raid drops. Rng is worse anything else in the game

Is your assumption that people that parse high are somehow doing so without doing their dps rotation?

This is a unique approach to logic

I play with the mindset of “ill win the roll and get the loot eventually” and just play the game. Its a very stress free mindset of not constantly worrying about losing rolls. I guess this comes with experience.

people who care about parses are ME oriented players over group success. Theres no doubt they have the same mindset on loot. UGH I ALWAYS LOSE ROLLS! ILL NEVER GET THIS OR THAT!

What a stupid thread, it’s all just RNG and there’s nothing wrong with caring about your performance.

Ah, yes. Reapers.

Why do dads salt out so hard when asked to put in more than the bare min? No ones asking you to pink parse =/.

its the zoomer, tunnel vision mindset for me. performing well goes beyond dps

This is such a ridiculous assumption. In fact, every single one of your posts screams “ME ME ME” and you can’t even see it because you’re too busy getting mad at other people for just playing the video game.

You don’t want anyone to parse, you don’t want anyone to focus on meters, you want hybrids to heal you, you want warriors to wear shields, you want blah blah blah blah blah. To be honest, I think you might be one of the most judgmental, selfish players I’ve ever seen on these forums.

Seriously. Imagine getting so mad at people for wanting to play the game differently than you and insulting the entire like wow classic culture over it several times a day and calling everyone else but you, selfish. Impressive.

What is a parse?

thats a lot of conclusions youre jumping to. I just have seen the changes in the playerbase since 2004 so I know what the parse culture has done. I know how math works and that hybrids will become too powerful if they gain power in any one area. I dont want them to just heal, I want them to play as hybrids instead of whining for more power. God forbid that I want the sword and board playstyle to make a return to the game, tell me how thats any different than hybrids not wanting to just heal?

Im not the one getting angry, im just giving my opinion on how I want the game to go in order to maintain its balanced RPG elements because I know it is important in a MMORPG

A miserable little pile of secrets.

So here’s a question: why care that much about loot? Why aim to be BiS? To pvp a bit easier? To show off your gear? To wait for it to become irrelevant in the next phase/expansion? Gear is secondary to me, since I try my best each raid and compare myself on logs to people with similar gear to see how well I’m performing or improving. I feel that at least that gives the gear some purpose
