The Jailer’s Heart Of Azeroth

There’s an interesting item on the PTR that players can loot

Interesting how the Worldkiller Iris is an anti-HoA

He had his own Heart of Azeroth which he had been planning to use to kill Azeroth in the Sepulcher.

The fact that Azeroth gave him the same gift she gave us gives us questions: When did Zovaal get in contact with Azeroth? How did he charm his way into her good graces?

Was it during the mysterious Scouring that Xal’atath mentioned as preceding the Sundering? Did he help save her from something that was killing her and get the Heart of Azeroth for that purpose?

If he indeed saved her from the Scouring just so that he could get his hands on the Heart of Azeroth then this shows that he wasn’t taking chances even during his initial push to claim his siblings Sigils!

If he was the overconfident sort he would have simply took the Heart and then attacked his Siblings for the Sigils, get captured and have Azeroth die on him ruining his plan utterly!

You see, it’s because Azeroth is Zovaal.

Zovaal split himself and hid one half inside Azeroth aeons ago. The Heart of Azeroth was in fact the Heart of Zovaal all along and the Shadowlands half of Zovaal also has his own “heart”.

During the fight, Azeroth Zovaal will come out of the planet and retrieve his “heart”. The two halves of Zovaal will then perform the fusion dance using their respective “hearts” and become Super-Ultra Fantastic Zovaal the Destroyer of Worlds, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Drag- uh Father of DEATH and EATER OF REALITY.

Super-Ultra Fantastic Zovaal will prove too powerful, he’ll defeat us and then berate us for how foolish we had been. That us mere mortals thought we could ever defeat him when he inhabited the very world on which we lived. That all along we had been defending him and that he knew the Legion was never a threat to Azeroth (aka him), he just wanted to force us to protect him for this very moment - so he could see the look on our faces when he revealed the truth.

Super-Ultra Fantastic Zovaal then proceeds to remake the world.

And that, my friends, is the end to this chapter of the Warcraft storyline - that has been carefully cultivated throughout the years.

So, he’s plans to kill Azeroth, with her own blood (azerite)?

Maybe the Jailer tricked or forced Azeroth to give him a Heart of Azeroth necklace.

Which goes to show that Azeroth has been conscious for some time unlike the other Titans who gained awareness the moment they awoke.

Or it could be he made his own version. Like how Ashvane had her own bootleg version, although without any special qualities to it.

Perhaps, though in the link the flavor text for the “Worldkiller Iris” seems to indicate he got it from Azeroth somehow.

Obviously he was once one of those meddling Adventurer types.

These kinds of flavor text are often written by scenario designers and the like, not by Creative Development. I wouldn’t read too much into any of this except as an easter-egg.

I think he just picked up one of the ones we all threw away after we found an upgrade. There were so many, clearly he had plenty of discarded Hearts of Azeroth to pick from!!

Wouldn’t be the first time players throwing away “useless” items became canon.

Such as with Xal’atath.

Remember the implication the Heart of Azeroth was given to multiple champions? I could see the ruler of mega hell managing to get his hands on one.

A dreadlord did it!

What was Zovaal’s plan to wipe out all existence before he learned he could obtain the Heart of Azeroth and use it in the Sepulcher? Was it simply the Burning Legion?
