This would still upset me because I think punishing community innovation to make their own gameplay elements and services in the world is bad for the game but I would still consider it a much better situation. Losing boosting upsets me but blizzard getting confidence to push ahead with more monetisation I think just kills classic outright.

That is a legitimate concern and part of the reason why players donāt like boosts even if they were 100% free of RMT. Not participating in lower content and getting boosted past lower content has the same effect on players lfg for said content. They are left high and dry either way. Perhaps Bliz can implement ways to incentivize either creating alts for a larger pool availability or a means for overleveled/geared toons to join lowbies in their content via a temporary crunch.
Edit: EQ2 had a rewards system called Spirit Shrouds that provided a means for the ubergeared to walk amongst their lowbie brethren without turning it into a face-roll. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ:Spirit_Shrouds
A RDF for the 1-60 or 1-70 would go a long way, but currently the classic team thinks this is against the spirit of classic so instead we get new alts and new players are told to slog through quests and aoe grind mobs til max level.

I would imagine almost everyone getting boosted is an alt of someone who has done the content before. Iāve often wondered if once you level a char to max level all Alts should be creatable at say max or near max level (with an option to start at 1 if you do want to do it again). Why make people do it twice if they donāt want to when you get the sub money either way. Solves both problems but I suspect blizzard wonāt do it cause then their paid char boost becomes useless. What kind of share holder gives up revenue for nothing.
Maybe itās to incentivise the paid char boost. Hard to make people pay for it if leveling is easy and fun or community boosting services are cheaper.

Seems like even within the classic team the āspirit of classicā is not unanimous. But yeah the financial team sure loves the paid boosts, as long as the money isnāt going to a Venezuelan Mage booster who cares
Itās important to remember that in a public traded company the term āleaderā is symbolic. The shareholders really do have all the power and can decide to do whatever they want, whenever they want, regardless of what any of their emoloyees have said.
Classic devs need to take this idea and run with it! Iāll note that if done right it doesnāt need to be fast. Fun is fun, ensuring that players enjoy the ride is their job.

Thats a good point, need to grab the SEC filings and start blowing up the board members emails and phones to get this fixed.
High level characters killing enemies in dungeons for the sole purpose of experience gains for low level characters.
