The hypocrisy of people who hate flying

So to all those flying haters, Why are you currently flying around BfA? No one held a gun to your head and forced you to unlock flying. If you really hate it so much why are you doing it? Its a choice not mandatory, except crappy terrain design which we painfully suffer with for an entire year kind of makes it so. If you hate flying so much but dont have the self control to not fly then hey you can go play classic. Stop ruining the game for those of us who have 30+ alts and would much rather lvl faster via flying than painstakingly leveling on the ground. 4-6 months is more than enough time to fully explore the ground a whole year is just ridiculous

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone say they -hate- flying. And those that do hate flying, probably aren’t flying, or aren’t playing the game.

feels like this entire thread is to attack a strawman you created.

Most people are not anti-flight, they just don’t see Pathfinder as an issue. :woman_shrugging:

At this point, there really is no feasible excuse for not having pathfinder. You’ve had quite a long time to do so now. You’d have to actively not playing to not have it.

Wrong. Just so, so wrong.

Choosing not to fly and having a game designed around no flight are two fundamentally different experiences.

If we had a button that could skip over any content, most of us would press it whether we think it’s good for the game or not.

Then you’re hypocrites.

Yeah, why are they timegating me getting 2500 rating in arena? Just because of haters? If you really hate me being 2500 rating then why are you beating me in arena?

Not at all. Players will naturally pick the path of least resistance whether they think it’s good game design or not. That’s perfectly consistent and reasonable.

There is an undead guy, Hagustus or something like that who hates fly because he feels it ruins the community.

It’s consistent.

But if you’re complaining about flying, it isn’t reasonable.

What do you mean I have to put a little bit of effort to get flying?! I want it now!!

It is reasonable to fly while still thinking flight is bad for the game. If I could fly over all raid/dungeon trash, I’d do that too, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s good for the game to be able to.

Looks at Lejk’s arguments…

I’d say he’s on the money so far for this conversation.

The timegate is what makes pathfinder really hated. Without it people with 30 alts should like it because it allows alts to fly without being max level and it is free. Before your alts still had to level on the ground because flying was typically lock to being max level or close to max level and you had to pay 5k gold.

Okay. so there’s one guy who -says- he hates flight. Then again I’m pretty sure you can find one person in the world that will do just about anything, especially for attention.

I too don’t have any problems with flight, don’t care if its gated or not

Legion Pathfinder took awhile for me to do at content but I got it eventually, I still was using ground mounts months after Pathfinder part 2 was out

And if you, and those like you, refused to fly maybe that would make the developers take note.

But, as it stands, you can’t help yourselves, so…

He is the only one I can remember off the top of my head.

For some reason I have this image of him as a thin old man sitting on a rocking chair on his porch yelling at kids because their ball landed on his lawn.

We’d be stupid not to fly. Again, if we could fly over dungeons, we would. Wouldn’t you? Do you think flying over dungeon trash would be good game design?

The same logic applies to the world. It’s bad game design, but nobody’s gonna gimp themselves over it.

I fly because it came to me while I was playing. It was a bonus for being subbed and doing the content in 8.2.
