Look, man, I think there’s a difference between saying edgy things in a video game and actively harassing a coworker to the point of them taking their own life.

I’m not saying trade chat is a lovely place but it’s not really that comparable.

You made 2 threads about this? With no actual argument? How is people chatting about politics in trade chat comparable, in any way, to the allegations at Blizzard?

to me it seems like the trade chat trolls are defending or normalizing bliz’s actions

it is actually the exact opposite from what you said

so no, no hypocrisy - actually very consistent

What a very insightful take that everyone should absolutely take into consideration.

How do you know it’s the same people?

It’s a difference is…if someone makes a crude joke about me in game it has no bearing in my personal life.

If my boss sexually harassed me…it does not only in my persons, my income and promotion potential or even if I have a job to feed, cloth and shelter myself.

There is no proof that the employee took their life because of the supervisor, a connection has not been established and if it had, there would have been an already established police report tying the two together.

To me they are saying “yeah, I love rape culture and fully support Blizzard, I just wish I could join in”

It seems to me that cancel-culture and mob rule are blaming everyone in an organization for a few bad apples. It seems people are being irrational and not waiting until the conclusion of a trial. I mean, what if Blizzard had already cleaned all this up and the DFEH is suing for something that was resolved in the past? We don’t know, so put on the brakes.
