The Horror in the Museum by HP Lovecraft

The Horror in the Museum is about a guy visiting a Wax Museum and discovers that the exhibits are actual people and that they were made with the help of an Eldritch God worshipped by the curator.

Said Eldritch God climbs out of it’s containment and the visitor to the Museum flees leaving the Curator to it’s mercy.

The visitor comes back to the museum and the Assistant(who constantly wished the thing killed and turned into an effigy) reveals the Curator’s ultimate work of art: The Curator himself turned into a Wax Sculpture and the Eldritch God he worshipped killed and turned into an Effigy by the Assistant just as he wanted!

An interesting story eh? The Eldritch God lost to some random assistant who decided to keep his employer’s Wax Corpse in possession of the Eldritch God’s corpse after shooting it dead with a pistol just so that he could have the combined result as art.

Lovecraft made this story where man killed the Eldritch Horror and used it alongside the mangled remains of his employer as a work of art! Man won against a Great Old One with a pistol in a HP Lovecraft story made by Lovecraft!
