What about the Alliance killings of Goblin miners?
Wouldn’t that escalate things pretty quickly?

It would honestly depend if they paid death benefits.
Have we ever seen Azerite transported via portal? It’s basically titan blood, crystallized Arcane magic. I wouldn’t be surprised if it reacted poorly to arcane translocation, but if so, they haven’t actually shown us this .
Jaina teleported some Azerite bombs in the first new war campaign quest Alliance side. But that’s not raw Azerite, so who knows if that makes a difference.
Didn’t they also explode almost immediately thereafter?
i think the gnome had put some kind of detonator that’s why he was making some steps back.

It would lead to more armed skirmishes, gradually increasing in size until there’s fighting all up and down the west coast of Kalimdor as more and more Azerite nodes start appearing.
You know i now want to see the alliance solve a problem without jaina this expansion.
Your way sounds like a really slow way to get to the inevitable conclusion.

I don’t think that’s a bad thing. We could have been exploring Kul Tiras and Zandalar while the conflict was heating up in Silithus. But alternatively, they could always have put some of the buildup in Before the Storm if they wanted to start the expansion off with a bigger faction battle.

Well, we solved the problem of Jaina being locked up without Jaina, more or less, does that count?

Only if you think Jaina being locked up is a problem (evil grin).
(I’m kidding, I’m kidding!)
Even if you don’t like Jaina, it’s at least, um, awkward, I’d say.
Pellex does like Jaina. That’s the problem for him- she’s not credible as an antagonist for us with how hard we’ve been pushed to sympathize with her over the years.
Yeah–it’s like Jaina is my ex who dumped me in a horrible messy breakup, but I’m still not over her.
the stable portals we see in-game as a travel convenience don’t exist in-setting., and Elegy mentions mages reaching the end of their endurance in the space of an hour or two.
I’d argue Occuleth can set up permanent portals that don’t tax him.
But we aren’t really shown that. Azerite weapons aren’t game changing. They’re about as effective as what we’ve been using. Hell, the first time the Horde used their fancy Azerite Warmachine, it was quickly destroyed and was outshined by the Blight.
I’m all kinds of salty about the Horde quest that the Alliance doesn’t do, that shows the Alliance being completely victorious and superior while the Horde is shown as stupid and ill-prepared.
It’d be one thing if it was an Alliance quest to show Alliance pride, but it was a Horde quest to show Alliance pride.

Only Blizzard would think putting the elusive “Alliance fistpump moment” in a Horde only quest was the way to go. It’s so ridiculous I’m laughing.
Blizzard has decided the best way to make both sets of players hate themselves
If the goal is to satisfy the smallest number of players, I guess congratulations are in order, because they seem to be achieving it.
I’d argue Occuleth can set up permanent portals that don’t tax him.
If Occuleth could do what it’s suggested he’s able to do, and the writers allowed it to stand and actually made use of it, the Horde’s mobility advantage would easily be enough to counteract the Alliance’s apparent material superiority. It would be a great way to have asymmetrical strengths.
Instead, apparently the Alliance gets super teleport no jutsu. Go figure.
I’d argue Occuleth can set up permanent portals that don’t tax him.
Occuleth was using a pre-existing portal network. He might not be able to create a new one from scratch.
