The Horde should not have Paladins

The Paladins were created to stop the Hordes invasion of Azeroth by utilising the power of the light.

Righteous, honourable and full of piety, traits the Horde lack. From a lore perspective why were they eventually allowed to have Paladins?

A lot of stuff happened since then. There are story-lines and such.

its not a problem in classic. Only you have paladins, only Horde has shamans, as it was foretold.

You are both pretty.

Tom Chilton read complaints on the forums and turned to his trusty magic 8-ball. After getting “Ask again later” a few times, it said “yes”, so he made it so.

Horde got Paladins because the Alliance players were making the class look bad. Blizzard decided the only way to save the class was to bring it to the Horde as well!

You couldn’t have added the comma after the word “News” for him? :frowning:

Um…weren’t Paladins created to combat the threat of the undead, not the Horde?

This is the Classic Discussion forum, and the Horde didn’t have Paladins in WoW Classic.

Nobody on this forum is going to argue seriously that the Horde should have Paladins (or that the Alliance should have Shamans, for that matter).

Like others mentioned here, the High Elves were friends of the Alliance, but most of them were slaughtered and the majority of the survivors became the Blood Elves, bringing the Paladin class with them that they shared a mastery of along with the Humans and Dwarves.

The Draenei could become Shaman because they once lived in peace with the Orcs in Draenor, and the Orcs pioneered the ways of the Shaman.

Lore wise Paladins were created after the first war because Clerics didn’t do so well in a war. They needed people who could use holy magic but also stand up in a front line fight, so they picked a few Clerics to teach martial combat to and a few knights to teach the Light to.

Which at the time they were fighting off the original Horde invasion.

Later the Horde got Paladins because the Blood Elves stole a wind-chime and became light vampires.

Horde should only have access to warrior and lock. We ate the tauren in this universe sorry.

And yet the Alliance is filled with a bunch of self righteous prigs that sought to make an enemy of the Orcs from the get go. Don’t forget the Forsaken are so named because of Alliance actions. We don’t want your filthy paladins anyway.

Because Draenei were not part of the Horde invasion of Azeroth and had a far more direct and cognizant connection to the Light than any Human ever did.
