No where does it say that you have to kill all of or the entire group for it to be genocide. Nor does it say it can only be one group, or even mention intent .
I find this definition to be even more precise:
Genocide in the generic sense means the mass killing of substantial numbers of human beings, when not in the course of military action against the military forces of an avowed enemy, under conditions of the essential defenselessness of the victim. There are also the quotes from Eledgy where Blizzard as the author states it was genocide.
“How could this be happening? How could the Horde have gotten so far, and how—in Elune’s name, why?—had the Horde chosen to burn the World Tree? This was more than war. More than cruelty. This was madness and genocide and hatred so extreme that Astarii could not understand it.”
“Sylvanas Windrunner had committed genocide.”
There are also the quotes where Tyrande states that the NE race will never recover from the burning of Teldrassil and that there are “too few” NE left.
If any of you deniers have an official alternate definition of genocide that proves otherwise, by all means, please share it here with documentation.

Still don’t care it was a justified genocide. night elves are trash and should have been burned long ago.
Genocide is never justified.
If anyone deserved it/would have been justified, then rather than imprisoning the orcs after their invasion of Azeroth, they should have been exterminated.
Yet the Alliance didn’t commit genocide, because it was wrong, unlike the Horde.

It is a line that should never be crossed.
Fictional or not, when genocide occurs it should never be looked at as something that is acceptable/just/righteous. It should always be considered a most heinous evil.
I’d rather they flounced and capered around the expansion.
Horde is indeed disgusting, a bunch of pig faced greenskins and literal cow men. Not to mention the terrible smell.

Quite a few of my horde were 15th anniversary AV raised…so they didn’t even touch a tree. Just lots of dead alliance in the valley is all.
MY role-play with is they came out going damn…you did all that huh? Glad I missed it. So…lets look at the WQ’s shall we. A few dead blood trolls, some witches and mercs from Ashvane and void freaks in KT area…cool. No one misses them lol.

It’s a poorly-written story used as a vehicle for aging metalheads to live out their fantasies. Not worth this level of engagement.
Besides, the Horde do this all the time. This is their third genocide since WoW began.
